Wiki.roblox.com is giving 403 errors

Yeah, on my iPhone(can’t get to pc), I’m getting this 404 error now. I didn’t get it when this thread was originally made. Odd.

Yep it’s showing the wrong IP for me.

For the time being you can use some proxy to access the wiki, for example:
https://www.megaproxy.com/freesurf

Life saver

Problem is still occuring for me and some of the people I’ve asked. Hoping for this to get fixed soon. Anyone else that also still has this issue?

Just tried and no change, still unable to access the wiki. Both @Maximum_ADHD and @MisterNeutron have confirmed that it is being looked into, though.

Hi you can use my proxy thing but i might move it to another website if it gets too much bandwidth
http://ayylmao.co.uk/proxy.php?http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php?title=Main_Page

And do not use this for http requests to roblox if you want to do that just use rprxy.xyz (I will legitimately take this down if I get HTTP requests overloading the server)

Hey.

I’ve been having some trouble connecting to the wiki website recently, but I’m not sure if it’d fit in the #bug-reports:web-bugs category as it appears to only be happening to me (therefore I am sorry if this is in the wrong category).

Note the first time this happened, it stopped happening around a day later, that’s why I assumed this was something normal and temporary.

Basically, each time I try to access any URL on the wiki, a 403 error pops up. Quite honestly, I’m kind of clueless when it comes to this things, so how exactly should I fix this? It just says I should contact the administrator of wiki.roblox.com to resolve this issue.

This is what always shows up:

I didn’t censor that, the ID / Your IP Address / Timestamp fields are blank.

Summing up: what should I do to fix this?

Edit: moved to web bugs.

This happens to me a few times per day as well, but I’m normally able to just refresh the page and access whatever I need to. Based on the error shown, the DDoS protection is too strict and needs to be dialed back to allow more traffic. I think it’s fine to move it to bug reports, because it’s definitely an issue.

Alright, I’ll move it. Refreshing the page just shows the same thing for me though :frowning: .

I also experience this, It only happens at my mums so I usually have to use a proxy to access the wiki.

Edit: Most of the time when it happens at my mums it says the ip is “95.101.2.114” Which isnt close to my actual IP

It is. You should remove that. You have a local IP and a global IP to simplify. The 192 IP is generally your local. That 95… IP is still yours.

My ip starts with 89, thats the same ip my friends are getting aswell

Chance you’re running a proxy/VPN?

Nope, i googled whats my ip and it returned my actual ip

This occurs randomly, I don’t see any pattern of this… and I don’t think I was using any proxy at all.

Hi there all,
I also have this issue on my home network. I can’t work this way, I need the Wiki for the API reference…

@Nightgaladeld, would love to hear a response about this issue that make it hard for us to access our docs.

You can use a proxy website for now - that’s what’s I do - although it’d be nice to have this fixed as soon as possible.

Hi there,

Thanks for the reply, but honestly this has to be fixed so I don’t have to use that kind of workarounds. (The API docs in ROBLOX Studio also work…)

When will this be fixed? It’s been over 2 weeks, if the new software is going to be really this anal about us hitting the wiki a few times in a day it’s going to be a major problem. I’m constantly having to run back to someone else on Discord and ask “what’s this page” or “what’s it say/screenshots” could it be possible to get the DOSarrest limit raised possibly? Spamming F5 and clearing the cache just won’t work unfortunately and I’m not using a VPN/Proxy to access it.
