That’s not necessarily true, if he can optimize it, I’m sure it’ll run fine.

This looks really amazing. To optimise it, you should add a script that only loads objects within viewing range of a player. I saw a post about something like that awhile ago.

that will be more demanding, loading/unloading a lot of objects

sadly i saw a guy which imported whole gta 5 terrain to roblox. and its totally broken now.

@NormEnder_35 Not gonna lie, it would be cool to see it possible for the other way around.

@varjoy Maybe you can try decreasing the draw distance? I know it doesn’t look good but that’s how it had to be done back in the days of the PlayStation, PlayStation 2 and original Xbox.

yup. but yeah thats possible to use 2012’s terrain system for better fps.

This is genuinelly really cool and I have never seen something this large scale on Roblox, my only problem with it is its functionality as a Roleplay game, considering if this game becomes popular, I am pretty sure only 500 players can fit into a single server, this will probably make the game really buggy, and its just so large scale you won’t really be able to find much roleplay. Will there be a way to transport around the map to main locations?

Obviously!
Cars,bikes.
The max server size might be around 80.
Though, I’m not a bad programmer, and know how to handle it :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Looks awesome but how do you deal with the lag ?

from the looks of it, most buildings are detailed/realistic. Also, a large map is good but decreases performance. Also, from the looks of it, your part count has gone bananas.
It appears this is only the map. when you count the poly of the cars and weapons and everything else, your game is dead meat in fps lol.
anyways, not bad! Hard work pays off.

I don’t mean to sound like a downer here, but isn’t that city loader (a plugin)? Everything is precisely cut off on all 4 sides, and the colour of the roads/buildings is the same that the plugin uses.

Not sure if city loader can be done to that scale. I agree it looks quite similar, but I can’t be entirely sure. He may have used a decal of the city map and built on top of it manually.

You really will need a very very good streaming system for this. That map is enormous.

It can. I’ve done it before. You just need to line up the squares.

I’m totally going to play this. It looks rad and so realistic.

Looks awesome! Can’t wait for my FPS to be a bandicam recording that has been uploaded to YouTube in 2008

Can we receive ANY news about this game? Doesn’t look that bad… But anything? Any sneak peeks at all cuz I haven’t found any.
