Would 600k Robux be enough for advertising my game? Advice needed

I know its a lot of reading, but it should take maybe 2 mins to read it or less thanks again
Hello! So recently I made a post similar to this but I did not go into very much details, so I am here on this posting explaining in proper details my concern and what I’d like to try or what I think would be good in hopes of getting some advice.

I’ve saved up around 600k robux from the past year. I’ve been deving a game for a while now and it’s set to release on Feb the 6th. It was heavily inspired by the successful ‘Animal simulator’ game, infact it shares a lot of similarities with features and stuff you can do, however with mine there is a bit more offered.

My game in short will be an animal life simulator game, you can explore the map, pretty decently sized, collect different rarity of chests, fight npcs and npc bosses. You can roleplay as a robloxian or animal, you can collect skins that have values and some with bonus attributes like speed, size, attack.

There is a leveling system in which you gain EXP just by playing and if you attack/collect chests/level up and other ways you’d get EXP to level up.

There will also be trading and leaderboards plus more things I haven’t mentioned.
The game is designed to be mobile compatible and low end device compatible, it’s simple not too complex and confusing, will have a nice simple tutorial and its designed to encourage different types of gameplay such as, exploring, roleplay, survival, grinding, collecting… etcera.

My plan with advertising is the one I am concerned about, I’ve read a lot and spoke to a decent amount of people, in which my plans are…

20k Robux daily on sponsors for 25-30 days.

How much players can I expect from this??

My biggest questions/concern is… Do I do sponsors? Do I do ads? Should I do less? Should I do more??
I have all intentions to go all into this, I don’t care to save any robux from it. My intentions with this endeavor is to become a proper big studio one day, using the developer’s exchange program.

I have done my best to try and keep player retention to long periods so that the ads can pull as much high numbers on the game as possible.

I’d really appreciate any feedback and advice you can give me, I am honestly quite scared a bit of this, I’ve spent quite a long time saving up for this moment.

The game is also pretty well made and we are using no free models or anything along those lines that players can scream “This is copied.”

(Not that using free models is bad I don’t mean to be rude)
We’re also trying to make it original and different yet somewhat similar to Animal simulator.

here is two ingame pics, yes I rushed to take em so it’s not the best.

Map is not done yet, trying to keep it small so players can interact with others fairly often.

How some of our animals look^ All animated properly and bone rigged. Colored using part colors.
I do a new animal every day.

I suggest you test ads so you know the results of your ads before 600k goes down the drain. I advise to spend 1-5k on test ads.

Thank you, yeah I do plan on testing to ensure proper CTR and what not, however once I find a good one. Should I go with my plan? Should I do regular ads or sponsors?

Great! I have a simular issue, its not anything like this (I don’t have 600k robux) but I have a few games that blew up a bit (private, really bad game) that got me a few thousand robux. I have 30k robux, is that enough? The game is about done, just need to build the map. (no idea how long its gonna take)

Also, I am using the roblox cars, are those mobile compatible? I know (I am testing it) you can drive it, but you cant steer, which is a bit of an issue. I am testing it on the computer so that may be probably the cause, but I do not know. Probably gonna post something on another forum about that.

edit: they are mobile compatible. to test it don’t use your keyboard, use the normal mobile way of getting around (the joystick)
you can steer the car using the joystick and drive the car using the arrows.

10k would be the best bet to just test out how your game works out. Spending 600k all at once will be a huge drain as @STL240 mentioned.

With that, if you see any positive increase in players & revenue, increase the bid to 25k and keep on advertising until your game takes off by itself.

I struggled with this too. So you see, I’ve ran 5k on sponsors last week, gained 12 concurrent players & got 1.4k clicks. I ran 4k on ads this saturday, got the same exact player number, although got 1.380 clicks. If you have good and eye catching images, surely you’ll see positive results! It really depends.

Also would HIGHLY suggest to run ads on the weekends, gives the best results!

I would say spend %45 of your money on sponsored ads and the other %55 on regular ads.

Hey i’m not sure how to advise you there buddy if the vehicles can’t be steered on mobile, i’d try to make it mobile compatible! Mobile users make up a huge amount of Roblox’s player base.

@STL240 Thank you for your input!

@Avtixe Thank you for your input as well!

I have an ad blocker, which seems to block roblox ads on roblox.com. Just wanted to point that out.

Also, do you know why ads run better on weekend? My first though is that more people are on roblox instead of being in school. But I am wondering if you would see that same increase with sponsers.

Thinking about testing it on my phone and progressing through that. If It is not mobile compatible then I have no idea what I am gonna do.

This is why I’ve mainly done sponsors before, I once tested 20k sponsors vs 20k ads and the sponsors seemed to bring in a lot more players than the regular ads did.

So it is definitely a very confusing thing for me.

I was thinking about making the game mobile compatible a bit later (a few updates down the line), but yea most of the players are on mobile. Is there any players that are on console? Last time I tried to sponsor my games, I wouldn’t get that much hits on console, but that was a long time ago (cira 2019) so I have no idea now. Thinking about making it console compatible, wouldn’t hurt.

What platforms? Mobile is a huge hotspot, I mainly did PC back then so that’s probably also a reason why my games didn’t do so well.

Simple answer: School are off = more playtime for people.

Everyone has a mix thought in this. I got the same result, although I got more revenue from ads (not saying that this is 100% always right) than sponsors. So :man_shrugging:

Huh, ill try it out. Dont really have that much robux to throw around. How much should I try and throw at the game? I have 31.8k robux.

5,000-10,000 is fair. You should also have a plan to make the player come back to your game after they played it. You really don’t want your game to die instantly after you spend huge amount of money to it.

Any tips on how to do that? Just more content?

Basically what the OP has mentioned. These are very important monetization factors!

How big is decently sized? my map is approxently 3126x4168 studs. Not sure about ops. But I have seen maps about that size

Players are smaller than those trees in the middle there, the map is pretty decently sized, it’ll still have loads of player interaction.

Here is mine. I circled the npc since they are a bit hard to see. Is this a good sized map? Its not done as you can tell, but I have a rough idea of what I want. Just doing the scripting right now.

still working on trees, what did you do for your trees?
