Excellent look game. Although, be sure to optimize it so that everyone can enjoy it.

Yeah, this has been somewhat of a concern for me. However, with options to remove extra decor, simplify lighting, and with FilteringEnabled, I’m hoping it will work for at least medium-end devices.

Looks interesting, but I focus more on gameplay than graphics so I can’t say much off the graphics alone.

Is this going to be a Genshin Impact fangame?

The gameplay will remain the same, however the story, characters, and world will all be my own, original designs.

The map and art style are still heavily inspired by Genshin.

Well there’s more to whether or not I’ll play a game than how it looks. But I think it looks fine.

Additionally please do not imitate the gameplay of Genshin. I don’t care if you make a one-to-one copy of the gameplay, the gameplay is just bad.

rlly a good idea but

we have alot of players with low end devices or something like that, at this point you need to enter on the player Pov:

you don’t need to think too much about quality, sometimes gameplay matters alot to players that most of the time if they enjoy, they will be happy that the game had alot of Settings for Low-End / medium Devices

genshin gameplay looks kinda robotic to me, characters well-made but… i don’t know about that combat, could be even better for a company that gets alot of money, it’s kinda sad not gn lie

When I say “copy the gameplay”, I’m mostly talking about the combat system and the exploration. I want to make it an overall easier experience to upgrade characters.

Also just wondering, you say the gameplay is bad. Have you ever played Genshin? How long did you play it for?

I’m confused, both companies are on the greedier side, and how does that make the combat better?

Also, what part of it is “sad”?

Looks don’t matter if the gameplay is good.
Bee Swarm Simulator for example looks like it was modeled by an eight year old. Tens of thousands of people still play it daily.

3/21/2018 is different from games that were created today or atleast in 2021+
any games behind 2015-2018 have excuses to be what they are

Bee swarm was not intended to make you waste money and just pay2win everything on it and roll tons of robux to get what you want

atleast bee swam has some npc lore, and the enviroment is not that bad

you join on some simulator, YOU see 0 Lore, 0 gameplay, just spam click and get bazillions of cash
if you want some pet, just robux it or suffer trying in the Gacha system

i’ve seen so many simulators without a single npc (except) shop, trade, and upgrades section

today we have so much potential, Yet devs wanna make some cash-grab game to profit from kids

the problem with profit from kids i’m talking about pay2win extreme content on alot of games

Sounds interesting, so it’s gonna be an openworld fantasy RPG?

If so, then I’d definitely give it a shot. However, as other people have stated, make sure you optimize the map well.

I recommend using packages for models that’ll be reused around the map, it’ll improve your optimization a lot.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I’m confused, as the Documentation mainly says that packages are used to update assets across multiple experiences, not reducing memory usage or anything. How exactly does it help with performance?

A package is like a model, but unlike a model the data for a package is reused across the entire game. For models, Roblox needs to calculate the data for it every single time there’s a copy of the model on the map (by data, I refer to lighting, collision, textures, etc.). But since packages are all the exact same, Roblox can calculate data once per package and then reuse it throughout. Combined with proper streaming optimization, it’s very efficient.

So, for example, instead of calculating the same data over and over again for all 300 windows you’ve placed around the map, it would be calculated once and then reused whenever a new window needs to load. It also makes things more efficient for updating models in case you change your mind about a color or material or something.

(A little side note: packages can be resized without having to update them. Any other intricate changes like color will need to be updated, so if you have color variants those would be different packages.)

This is literally not how it works at all, please stop spreading misinformation online :expressionless: meshes are instanced automatically :skull: not only did you mislead people your advice is so wrong it doesn’t even do anything packages related, that’s not even what they’re made for lol btw. different colors also get instanced so this is also a lie in fact this is probably the most wrong message I’ve seen in my lifetime on devforum pls delete it for the sake of other less knowledgeable users

I think @Lleventyate has a point, whilst genshin’s design is obviously smart it’s not actually good for the player, in almost everything the game has to offer the developers had 1 goal, waste all the time the player has to slow down progression and then make the user pay more to speed it up since the dedication it requires isn’t reasonable for most people, even something as simple as dialogue is purposefully set to a slow speed across all their games, combat is probably one of the worst I’ve seen in a video game it requires 0 attention from the player but obviously they can’t just go AFK even tho there’s no proper depth to it, on top of that exploration has countless functions to limit the player’s speed in making progress aswell and equipment progression is ofc the only online part of the games and made sure to result in money spent, in fact it’s so punishing id say the game is unplayable for f2p people because of how predatory it is which results in basically everything about it extremely boring. Also the fact that you copied their map is definitely going to result in this product failing since mihoyo regularly checks the Roblox platform and removes anything fanmade, especially good luck fighting them in court with an international lawsuit when they’re funded by a government which has no laws regulating such use lol

Could you provide evidence backing your claims? Packages make sense in a way, as they all link to the same model, so in theory it loads once.

Interesting take, however I want to address some of these points.

Progression is somewhat slow, however, many, if not most Genshin players are very casual. Most players just get their characters built enough, then move on to the next. From my experience, the game is very possible as a F2P player.

I dislike this, so I’d add a skip dialogue button. Simple QoL fix.

“The worst I’ve seen” is a very subjective statement. If nobody liked that combat, then people wouldn’t play Genshin.
You also contradicted yourself, saying the game needs no attention, but you have to actively play?
I understand that you’re trying to say that you just turn off your brain, but that’s only to an extent. Many strategies require timing abilities correctly for optimal results. There are many other complexities, such as understanding the elemental combat system, as well as making the most of your gear and your passives.
Also, some people like turning off their brain while gaming, just think of all the braindead games on Roblox.

Don’t most games do this? You either spend your time or your money to progress.

The map is not the same. It is quite similar, but the loadout is different and I made everything myself.

What would I be sued for? The map is inspired. The names of the characters, places, and entities of my game are all of my original design. As far as I know, I’m not violating copyright law.

TLDR: The concepts are original, and I simply want to improve on some of Genshin’s weak points by making rewards more frequent and progression faster.

I wouldn’t decide based on looks, I would base it on it’s release date, it’s genre, and of course, it’s gameplay.
