I believe it’s always important to keep an open mind; until we’re entirely sure of something, it’s in nobody’s best interest to treat assumption as facts. Doing so in any circumstance results in more often than not nothing but negativity, afterall, and there’s plenty of negativity regarding Egg Hunt and events already.
Roblox already knows how bad the Dev Hunts are, but as you know Roblox is one of the most money hungry game companies (up there with EA) and Roblox can’t bring themselves to fish out a couple 100 grand out of their literal billions to pay the Fifteam developers, even though the community will be much happier (I don’t know if you noticed but Roblox doesn’t really care about community input)
I understand there are arguments like “it helps developers grow their games” but previous dev hunts have proven it just spikes the games during the Egg Hunt and the games fall back to their previous state right after the Egg Hunt.
I’m afraid being the money hungry company that Roblox is, they will never make a good Egg Hunt or any good decisions for that matter.
Yeah I agree. Who knows, maybe they are planning something completely different for the egg hunt then people think! That would explain why so many egg hunt devs are acting so quiet about this new egg hunt. But of course it could just end up being another devhunt. We just need to wait until they give us more details, which I hope is soon!
Roblox Egg Hunts Have Been Going Downhill Since 2018
Organization
The EggHunts have been heavily unorganized and have felt rushed. It feels like too much work to actually have fun and enjoy it. Being forced into 50+ games to get an egg with some games not even being compatible is hilariously wrong.
Lack of Quality
The games chosen are simply on numbers and not quality. You only choose games that get you more money and fail to think about the community and what would make this event fun for all of your players. You choose games completely unrelated to the egg hunt.
Lack of Theme
You give these newer egg hunts “theme” and then completely fail to fulfill them. I will use last years “Agents of Egg” as an example. Not only did you hype this up with cool worlds, and builds. But you gave us all these teasers which in the end had no relation to the egg hunt. If you’re going to make it unorganized, atleast make that the theme. “Unorganized N’ Scrambled”
In Conclusion
We need the old egg hunts back. Now I’m not talking about 2010 egg hunts where it was pay to win, but rather the 2017, 2018 egg hunts that the community loved, and enjoyed. The EggHunts have been going downhill and we need a redemption. Please, hear our cries, and take action.
I hope my game gets accepted!
The only thing I see bad about my game is it’s team-based with public lobbies so it may end up with like 2 people doing work and 8 people AFK hoping the others will get them the egg.
Just wanted to say if you guys are planning for the devhunt please dont make the hub like rp2. The hub will not be fun if it’s literally just a bunch of teleports and instead you should go more for the 2019 hub. The hub will not be fun without the story, the obbys, and the final boss.
Uhh wasnt 2019 literally a jumbled mess of portals o.o
Is it possible the date to enter a game will be extended?
If so, that would be great.
Even if they do choose a small game, it quickly dies once the event is over. Most of the time, the small games also make the egg pay to win.
They are on a pretty tight schedule and I would hate for them to be more rushed and leave us with an egg hunt like 2019.
Oh yeah of course it does. Im not saying im with them making a dev hunt because the last thing I want is a dev hunt. But it does seem like Roblox is planning on making one already and I just dont want them to make a hub like rp2.
Well the main area sorta was but I’m talking about the other hub area where you can collect the marvel eggs and there was actually a story. 2019 was Still not as good as 2018 but definitely better then 2020 though
Got it.
I’m just saying, last year, some games were made just for Egg Hunt.
Last year, there was a game called portal adventures or time adventures or something, that was made only for the egg hunt.
If one is to make a game only for egg hunt, they need to know the genre of the egg hunt, and they only gave twenty one days from the release of the genre to the deadline.
Gotta admit kinda odd that the more details in mid janauary section was removed from the main post
This was not intentional, I’ll re-add it to the post. We’ll still be getting back in mid-january.
Today is last day when we could apply our game for egg hunt and the day when i noticed this post, i did submit my game, but after reading most of the replies i found that at the line “Game ID” i was supposed to give a Universal ID, but i gave a Place ID of my game. Now when applications are closed i can’t resubmit it. Is it okay and if my game get accepted i can just provide id or i messed this years egg hunt?
Players just don’t want to engage in the game when all they want to do is find the egg. Games should really be looking for exposure through entertainers on Twitch and YouTube since YouTubers help focus on the game instead of some dumb egg.
If Roblox’s main purpose for these “dev” egg hunts is to instead of cram a ton of games into one egg hunt, centralize your egg hunt to one game and just shout out game through little “games of the week” on the main site. Game creators like me don’t ever apply for these because I know the common player will only stick around for the event and when they’ve competed their goal, they’ll never play again. (Unless in those rare cases where the game is so good and unique it sticks out from the others.)
I will say that portal game was in my opinion the only game I enjoyed in the egg hunt as it was unique, and gave me a feeling of 2017/18
Event Problems and conflicts like RB
There was a problem in the syne piggy game
(1) Key green, purple, blue text due to lack of players
(2) Players won’t help
(Events that can be acquired by yourself)
