“Egg Hunt” 2021 Metaverse Event Opportunity!

People are hating on this for being another dev hunt. But does anyone notice Egg Hunt is in quotations and is called the Metaverse Event, you know, like the meta items from the Ready Player Two event? My guess is this is an extension of that event. Try to prove me wrong.

So are you saying that the meta event is an extension of the egg hunt? If that is what you mean then that news is pretty exciting.

The other way around. on Twitter, the official Ready Player Two account said this event(Ready Player Two) was going to be bigger then the last. How big do you think it was? In fact, this may not even be the real Egg Hunt. This may just be a cover up and the real egg hunt may not be a dev hunt(hopefully). Plus, the gold Meta Star item has not been released.

These two events will not be connected; however, they are both “metaverse events.”

Ah ok. Thanks for the clarification! Although I, like most people here prefer this years egg hunt to be a game i’m still gonna be hopeful for what you guys are going to make for this years egg hunt!

Super excited for this as I am for all egg hunts. Will there be a main hub or will it be similar to the “egg-phone” gear like last year?

What are some factors that helps judges on which games to select for the Egg Hunt Event? Thanks.

Yup me too all we can do for now is just wait…

Ready Player Two was already bigger than Ready Player One; RPO was spread across 4 games (5 if you count Mobile Piano) while RPT was spread across 7. RPT also had a hub place with a shop for items which RPO lacked. There are rumors that the event isn’t over (I believe a dev told KreekCraft to tell his stream that the event wasn’t over yet) but we have no real solid proof.

That being said, the idea of this perhaps not being Egg Hunt 2021 itself and more an extension is plausible. This is going to get a bit conspiracy here; I don’t fully believe this myself, but I see it as a possbility I’d like to address.

Let’s start with the OP.

I find the usage of this specific link to be a bit odd… I guess the eggs could be seen as this type of Easter egg, but it still feels a bit peculiar. Especially with the direction taken in the previous hunts where it’s been more quest based, I don’t feel this definition really applies. Let’s bring it back to Ready Player Two. The term “Gunter” is a contraction of “Egg Hunter,” referring to the types of Easter eggs in the article linked. I’d also like to note that these events have not been referred to as Metaverse before, not that it really means much but still might as well mention it.

That being said, there’s a few lines workinig against this:

This sounds just like the previous two Egg Hunts, as developers were given launchers to give eggs. Not to mention the desire to continue building Metaverse events… they can’t exactly keep running off Ready Player Two forever. It could very easily just be an official term instead of just calling it a “devhunt” now.

Regardless, I still feel it’s possible that the Egg Hunt will include some Ready Player Two interference much like 2018 did with RPO. We’ll just have to wait and see!

Wow, you did a great job on this. You put a lot of effort providing arguments for both sides.

Interesting argument. Just to let you know 99.9999 % of people do not agree with you and think the Dev hunts are trash and 2017-18 where the best Egg Hunts.

I believe it’s always important to keep an open mind; until we’re entirely sure of something, it’s in nobody’s best interest to treat assumption as facts. Doing so in any circumstance results in more often than not nothing but negativity, afterall, and there’s plenty of negativity regarding Egg Hunt and events already.

Roblox already knows how bad the Dev Hunts are, but as you know Roblox is one of the most money hungry game companies (up there with EA) and Roblox can’t bring themselves to fish out a couple 100 grand out of their literal billions to pay the Fifteam developers, even though the community will be much happier (I don’t know if you noticed but Roblox doesn’t really care about community input)

I understand there are arguments like “it helps developers grow their games” but previous dev hunts have proven it just spikes the games during the Egg Hunt and the games fall back to their previous state right after the Egg Hunt.

I’m afraid being the money hungry company that Roblox is, they will never make a good Egg Hunt or any good decisions for that matter.

Yeah I agree. Who knows, maybe they are planning something completely different for the egg hunt then people think! That would explain why so many egg hunt devs are acting so quiet about this new egg hunt. But of course it could just end up being another devhunt. We just need to wait until they give us more details, which I hope is soon!

Roblox Egg Hunts Have Been Going Downhill Since 2018

Organization
The EggHunts have been heavily unorganized and have felt rushed. It feels like too much work to actually have fun and enjoy it. Being forced into 50+ games to get an egg with some games not even being compatible is hilariously wrong.

Lack of Quality
The games chosen are simply on numbers and not quality. You only choose games that get you more money and fail to think about the community and what would make this event fun for all of your players. You choose games completely unrelated to the egg hunt.

Lack of Theme
You give these newer egg hunts “theme” and then completely fail to fulfill them. I will use last years “Agents of Egg” as an example. Not only did you hype this up with cool worlds, and builds. But you gave us all these teasers which in the end had no relation to the egg hunt. If you’re going to make it unorganized, atleast make that the theme. “Unorganized N’ Scrambled”

In Conclusion
We need the old egg hunts back. Now I’m not talking about 2010 egg hunts where it was pay to win, but rather the 2017, 2018 egg hunts that the community loved, and enjoyed. The EggHunts have been going downhill and we need a redemption. Please, hear our cries, and take action.

I hope my game gets accepted!
The only thing I see bad about my game is it’s team-based with public lobbies so it may end up with like 2 people doing work and 8 people AFK hoping the others will get them the egg.

Just wanted to say if you guys are planning for the devhunt please dont make the hub like rp2. The hub will not be fun if it’s literally just a bunch of teleports and instead you should go more for the 2019 hub. The hub will not be fun without the story, the obbys, and the final boss.

Uhh wasnt 2019 literally a jumbled mess of portals o.o

Is it possible the date to enter a game will be extended?

If so, that would be great.

Even if they do choose a small game, it quickly dies once the event is over. Most of the time, the small games also make the egg pay to win.
