Account Fasely Terminated (for VPN usage?)

On Friday, my 14-year-old main account (@HollowAurelius) was Terminated - for “creating or using an account to avoid an enforcement action taken against another account.”

I’m certain this is a mistake, and I’m all but sure that it’s some sort of mistaken connection relating to using a free VPN (I know..) for a few days. I’ve already sent an appeal but the first was rejected, and don’t have much faith the second will be read by a human either.

  • The review date listed on the termination notice is 05/17/24, well over a year ago
  • This is my main, almost 14 years old, created in Feb 2012 and used actively since.
  • I have devex receipts and a long history of activity to prove this.
  • None of my alts accounts have been banned, or moderated in any way. No one else i live with has been banned/moderated.

Any advice on how I can further escalate this would be much appreciated.

This is mistake but the person who use exploit(-s) in this IP address was banned.

So you need be careful using VPN, next time (or don’t use it)

It’s probably good to support this bug report:

Since Roblox Staff is not actively reviewing this catagory and it might be worth atleast mentioning your case there regarding the situation. The Bug Report is marked as open meaning staff likely still reviews the report

Thank you, I’ve replied to the post.

This is part of the reason why I don’t use VPNs.

They sound great on the surface—and I guess they are for specific scenarios—but the moment you forget to turn it off, now you’re suspicious!

Yep - and never something I’d do normally. I logged in for maybe 10 or so hours across two days while I was working on Public wifi. Hopefully the bug report linked above gets some traction with Roblox. For a company of this size it should not be a challenge to unban users banned under VPN IPs, and block further connecting from VPNs.
