[Action Needed] Upcoming Changes to Asset Privacy for Audio

Wow i thought the exact same some days ago, it would be useful

This is basically getting rid of years and years of audio made by people. Yes, audio uploading will be free but not without its costs. There are whole Roblox communities that will be destroyed by this update. Take for example the Ro-DJ community. They rely on others for audio and with audios going private. As a result in this it will break scripts in games that might not be updated anymore. Also having the ability to only upload 10 audio a month is not the way to go. I could go on and on for a while but in the long run this is not a good in my opinion.

I heard its 10 for non Id verified and then 100 for verified, my question is what is the id verified part? Do we apply for sound verification or is that the email verification everyone has to do at the start when making an account.

Seems legit

essentially the verification is like the voice chat verification and the talent hub essentially

You are supposed to use Robloxā€™s stock sounds from the catalog (they will add 100k more in some days) or you are supposed to pay a professional sound maker to make them for you.

Also donā€™t forget about pending approval it can take few minutes or even one day (that happend to me for example)

Most developers agree that the music is way too generic for their games.

I did already. But changing the time that you upload everything (as long as itā€™s before the 22nd) doesnā€™t matter.

Or the mods may reject the audio and you end up getting false warned or even worse banned. This is why Iā€™m scared of uploading any assets through my main account. I guess if this update goes live is that there is now a pro to having games owned by your group in that you can set up a rank that can upload assets to the group (which means they will work in that groupā€™s games) so I can continue the practice of uploading stuff via alts by just giving the alts the rank with uploading perms.

Unsurprisingly, one of the several audios my friend has re-uploaded has not been approved despite being already approved previously and usable for several years by this point. Itā€™s also worth mentioning despite it being nearly 24 hours later, not all of the audios have been reviewed yet.

This is madness.

Iā€™ve had to push back a project by 2 months due to these exact reasons. There is no feasible way for developers to make a fully fledged game with 10 audio uploads.

Everyone who is ID verified should have 100 uploads per month. If they donā€™t then they should probably try contacting Roblox support.

why only 10 if you arenā€™t verifiedā€¦I donā€™t see how being verified makes such a huge difference. There are a lot of young Roblox developers who donā€™t have access to an ID, and this is just limiting them from creating games.

4 days in and no responseā€¦ We definitely lost this ones soliders.

I just received a ban for 7 days for re-uploading an audio named 'InfinityAura".

What could possibly be so bad about the audio in question?

I am disheartened at the fact that Iā€™ve received such harsh punishment for complying with this update alongside another developer I work with.

Why do I get punished for complying with this update?

This just so happens to be the audio I was talking about here.

Making audio free has already resulted in a ridiculously slow approval process, but now people are getting banned for trying to fix their games, uploading audio that was previously approved and not violating TOS whatsoever.

This is an actual outrage.
