a pat on the back is better for me.
Then just choose that option when you play
it’s in the game, and it’s like a story isn’t it?
It’s like a story but you can choose what you say. You can either make or break your friendship.
Yeah, and make friends with REAL people, not programmed bots.
You may want to rephrase your title and anything in the OP to not be so associated with the concept of online dating. Most people will assume that it’s about ODing, and will evoke a negative response.
There are people who talk with AI to help with problems, also people develop strong connections with characters from anime and even tv shows, cartoon and non cartoon. This would be no different.
The actual reason people develops connections with them are because they are written to act realistically (well, not so many at all but in some shounen or romance animes there are that type), and then people creates some kind of connection by being able to relate to their life or to some character personaliity (in my case I grew connections with some anime characters and tv shows characters).
The thing is making a singleplayer game to make friendship with a bot is simply not really useful when there are REAL people with REAL emotions out there in the games and there are already enough games with that topic (hangouts, vibe, roleplays).
You’re avoiding the point. Anything that correlates to a romantic relationship (ie. Online Dating, Dating Simulators, or other games that act in favour of virtual relationships are prohibited in Roblox. Games like this often encourage users to explore the Online Dating side of the internet - a dangerous side I’m sure you’ll agree. Dating is not permitted on Roblox. This includes content that explicitly or implicitly promotes, encourages, or references dating.
Edit;
I did not see your edit, sorry. A friendship simulator where you become friends with NPCs should be fine.
I understand that your aim is to avoid the disturbing realities of it and use it for educational purposes, but it’s extremely easy for an idea to be twisted in the wrong direction by the players.
We already covered that. Dating sim is a no-go but a friendship sim is just fine
The point is it’s a game at the end of the day.
It’s just another version of roleplay
The point is, even though it is allowed in roblox, the main reason for the game to be made is pratically already covered by roblox itself which is a place where you can get friends virtually, play with friends, create games.
And the game technically makes the “friendship” thing worse because you are interacting with bots and not real people. They won’t be able to have real interactions with you because they don’t have real feelings so they wont be able to give you help in what you are needing.
I guess the idea would be better if it instead of being a “friendship simulator” it became a roleplay or hangout game, and if the game instead of being a singleplayer it became a multiplayer.
The point is the compelling story that you have with the characters while also maintaining achievement progression and reaching new endings. Envoking specific feelings from routes and choices that you can’t always get. Just like how people are emotionally involved with animes and tv shows. Or how people watch America’s got talent gold buzzer videos and feel emotions.
Now who’s to say there won’t be an option to go on specific adventures and journeys with your Roblox friends instead of NPC’s. There are a lot of game design option that can be made, changed, or used. I’m confident in my ability to make a game like this work. I just needed to know if it was an idea that is okay.
Another way to reword it is a Telltale Story game with NPC relationship progression.
Haven’t you said it was to help people feel less lonely? If that is the ACTUAL point then its pretty a fine idea then.
Yes, that is an effect that could happen of the games progression.
Not really at all, although it may have a chance to help someone emotionally, I really doubt that it will help someone feel less lonier.
Online dating is strictly prohibited according to the Roblox TOS, and highly recommend not doing this.
