Backrooms Level 0 Redesign Feedback Wanted

A while ago I made a post about my Backrooms game’s (Currently in Closed Testing, soon to be Paid Alpha) Level 0 design. That post got a lot of helpful feedback and since then I have tweaked the design a bit. This will probably be the last post I make about this unless there’s a massive amount of feedback. (Also no, I’m not changing the carpet material because surprisingly the old one somehow works better)

Thanks, but do you think there’s anything that needs changing? (That’s kind of the reason I made the post in the first place)

I think you need to put voice chat

Now that I think about it that would be a good feature, but that’s not high priority right now.

The trim is the only thing that’s really bothering me, it’s just to red… the only other thing I could mention is to try a more uniform patterned rug, one without the dark streaks. I like how’s its going, keep it up!

Why is there a smooth plastic tomato red line going across all the walls? Not even touching the ground, it’s just a foot above the ground all around. Why?

I’ll ignore that in the 3rd image, the skybox is visible. The skybox should be black so that it looks like a darkened room instead of an opening to the outside. Probably not while developing though.

The line is not smooth plastic, it’s wood. The colour is going to be tweaked soon.

It’s a design element in some variations of Level 0. I don’t really know where it came from but I personally like it in some of its iterations.

I Feel like its too perfect looking, It needs some dirt and junk all over, and the lighting needs to be fixed. I recommend adding a blur effect too. And the red line looks really weird, maybe if it was a white line it would look better? Other then that keep up the good work.

I plan on changing it to brown to fit its wood texture better.

Good idea, but I personally plan on having certain areas in the level (Probably further from the center) with some dirt on them.

Elaborate.

I Mean that it needs to be darker and more horror-ish
And the lights are way to yellow, Instead I recommend using a white light instead of yellow, there is already plenty of yellow from the walls.

ALSO maybe add like a white lining on the bottom of the walls.

My main goal for TB:R is for it to be the most accurate and immersive Backrooms game, not the scariest.

Like in this its just a bit more darker.

The version of the Backrooms I’m attempting to create is the wikidot one, not the Kane Pixels one.

Sorry, I Figured it was the Kane Pixels one

It’s ok, I understand since most modern Backrooms projects (Especially on Roblox) are based on the Kane Pixels Backrooms.

i dont liked texture of floor but ok

Not too shabby, but I dislike the red line everywhere. Only have it on specific walls

I have 2 things to say about this.

  1. I plan on changing the colour to the yellow from the original Level 0 image.
  2. It isn’t on all the walls anyway, it’s just really common.

I like the project you are going for! Keep with the good work, may improving realism messing up with color correction, change the trim color to wood color, (Darker areas?), CHANGE THE CARPET MATERIAL, PLEASE.

You may want to add PBR textures, normal maps, color maps… You know?
