Can I make a (rant-like) suggestion?
Would your staff please work on fixing the small bugs that have been around for years? I and others appreciate the amazingly talented people that keep Roblox running 24 hours a day, 365.2425 days a year, but there are smaller issues that constantly get pushed aside.
Every few weeks go by and I see Announcements about a NEW feature, but I’ve also seen unresolved bugs that people have complained about for years. I get the fact that you are trying to create a newer, fresher, easier to use, prettier platform, but please get a team together to address the older bugs that keep falling through the cracks.
The amount of bug reports about the Next Gen Studio from May 1st prove that not enough testing of some updates is being done. You had since July of last year when you released the Beta version to iron out most of these issues, but with the newly released version suddenly there are very basic issues like Studio not opening, or errors, and other simple tools and functions that don’t work properly.
I’ve been promised multiple times that this Studio window bug would be fixed since 2022.
Also this transparent decal bug hasn’t been fixed since it was reported in Nov. 2021!
There are multiple bugs that I’ve seen over the years that people just post “That’s the way it is, you have to do some hacky workaround to get around it”.
I understand it takes teams of people who are trying to make Roblox great, but I’m on the forums almost every single day and I see the bug reports keep flooding in. Maybe a team that’s sole job is to go through old reported bug tickets to make sure they’ve been Solved. This may include tickets that were handled by staff who are no longer there and have fallen off your radar.
I know this has been a bit of a crybaby whinefest, but I’ve been on the platform since 2011, and posting in the original forums (RIP) helping Robloxians out probably since 2013 so I believe I’ve got a pretty good background on issues I keep seeing on the platform.
As an aside I also troubleshoot aircraft engines over the phone and in emails with customers from all over the world. Customer service is a cornerstone of our business. We may not have 97.8 million daily users of our services, but every single one of our customers gets top tier service no matter what their issue is.
Thanks for reading and I hope some resolution can be made with older bug reports instead of just pumping out new releases for the platform. You guys already have a huge share of the world population on your site and it would be great to see a bit more support for all of us Developers who are the ones putting games on your site and money in your pockets.
The less frustration we encounter means more time we can spend building better games that’ll draw even more users to the site. It’ll also draw more players into using Studio to become developers and build your platform.
I’ve heard some users get frustrated enough that they quit developing the game their working on and stop using Studio altogether. They become just another player who enjoys games for free on your site and doesn’t contribute to your income.
