"Bumping" posts via titles or a open/close feature

As bumping posts via your replies is against the guidelines, I wanted to give some feedback. This is entirely my opinion, so feel free to suggest further.

Point 1:

As a GFX artist with a portfolio, I find it hard to find commissions without bumping my post to the top. Customers usually reply in private messages via the devforum or discord so your post theres no way of getting a customer to refresh the post.

Point 2:
Most portfolios rather have “[Open]” or “[Closed]” in the title to clearly label their status of their commissions. Title changes don’t bump/refresh the post either, so here is what I’m trying to suggest:

Possible feature?

I think there should be a way of refreshing portfolios or other topics, without “Bumping” the replies. For example, major title changes should boost it to the top. Although, this should be under strict moderation. This might sound stupid, but it’s basically the same as saying “open” in the replies.

Pros:
Your post gets recognised and refreshed to the top f the category

Cons:
People taking advantage and making small, unnessicary, changes.

On the other hand, there should be a feature where the #collaboration catagory should be able to have an “Open/Closed” feature on the post. There should be a cooldown with this as people could take it as an advantage. Everytime the post creator opens their post, it should post it to the top until closed.

Here’s an example on my idea:

Feel free to give me any feedback on what you think the pros/cons of this feature would be - I’m all ears for additional features

Why not link your portfolio directly? What does linking it directly not do that bumping your portfolio can? You don’t need to bump your portfolio to the top. It looks like you’re looking for excuses to get it to the top just for more exposure, not to make it easier for the contractors.

Roblox DevForum is powered by Discourse. I think they can’t do it.

They can, through plugins. It can be requested on Discourse too but the use case is very niche so it likely won’t be.

How can someone find my portfolio if it’s nowhere to been seen?

Not sure what you mean by this. I see so many closed posts at the top of the #collaboration being boosted by replies like “can u open it plz” . I’ve not had a commissions in 5 days but when a past customer replied with a review, I got 4 commissions in one day. That is my point and your reply completely ignored the whole point of this post.

By correctly tagging it. I never look through based on time, I go to the search bar, type what I’m looking for, and it provides answers based on relevance.

Describe yourself or your service well in the title and the topic.

Example, if I’m looking for a 3D modeller to make a car I don’t just pick the most recent poster on the category, I search “3D modelling car”

Does the search function not exist?

If someone wants to find your portfolio specifically they can look through your profile or just search it up like I did. No need for it to be at the top.

This is my title: [OPEN] Lava's Professional GFX Artist Portfolio (Cycles and Eevee)

I’m not sure if this would be searchable but from what I’m aware, it contains key words on the topic.

I’m an unknown artist, soo searching me specfically will do no help.

Then get yourself out there. There are many famous developers who don’t have their portfolio at the top or probably don’t even have a portfolio in the first place but look where they are on Roblox.

If I want a gfx artist who works with cycles, surprisingly another post of yours appears, so you might get some traffic from there.

I’d make your portfolio a featured topic so when someone clicks on you they see your portfolio (like mine is set to Beyond The Blox). I think you’re just as likely to be found as any other gfx artist when I go searching.

Thank you for the suggestion/feedback.

Fair enough. I just want the best possible way to be recognised in the community. I’m always improving on what I specialise in but never figured out how to get myself out there.

I’ve seen PA remove tags like [OPEN] or [OPEN SOURCE] or [RELEASE] from topic titles, because the ‘optional tags’ section is intended for stuff like this.

You should be able to edit the tags, like titles, at any time.

Fair.

This post kinda has mixed reactions and feedback so not sure how I feel about this idea.
