Yeah, not a fan of this. I mean, if the featured games are good enough, theyâll become more popular anyway. This feels like that (less engaging, potentially less fun) gameplay is being forced on people.

The problem is currently they are experimenting with only featuring the top 250 games of the popular sort, so it is not even doing the job of giving less popular creators an opportunity. It is a repeat of the popular sort but with significantly less games, cut down and staff curated and only updated by staff on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Which will probably prove to have made the games page more stagnate than before.
They need to automate what theyâre currently trying to do with the featured sort with the âtop 250â games using something like this idea and they need to put the featured sort back to giving new game concepts or potentially upcoming games a chance

Even with this change I donât support it. As you said, it makes games harder to increase and players and âblow upâ. Having the featured sort be only the top 250 games and be the #1 spot will make it harder for games to reach within the top 250 because they are literally unable to get on the sort until on popular for weeks. Still unencourages competition and capitalism. They shouldnât fix something that isnât broken. The popular sort being the first one is perfectly fine and doesnât need to be changed and Iâm still in favor of the featured sort giving smaller creators a chance at reaching their full potential.

I like the drive to change up the sorts, although I donât agree with putting Featured on top.
Imo the top sort should be some form of competitive sort that isnât curated, such as Popular or Top Earning. Per-region is fine!

Iâm excited to see where this goes, Iâve always thought that the Featured section should be apparent without the need to scroll down to the section, as itâs supposed to be the best Roblox has for the month.
Iâm hoping players wonât assume this has to do with the website error a few days prior, where games sections didnât show up properly. Who knows though.

I donât really understand why Roblox even has a âPopular near youâ section. Do they mean in my city, state, country? I suppose itâs meant to match up players that live in the same region so there wonât be language barriers and such, but itâs a little too vague.

Country. Popular near you has always been by country.
To be fair, with the featured sort on top, Roblox controls what their user base sees first as it is a curated list.

Yea which leads to bias, if an employee doesnât like a certain developer than they will never be on that featured list, the players should decide what game is on top not roblox

They donât track your location, so this would be impossible. They just go by the country you set in settings.
Tbh I 100% Agree with that statement, I personally have tons of good friends who have been put on the featured page, simply because theyâre friends with someone on the Dev Rel Team or because of mutual friends.
Iâm so happy this is happening, the games page has been needing some kind of new organizing for a while now. However, I also feel the same could be done for things such as the games you get recommended to when you click on another game.
I honestly think there should be âUp-And-Comingâ section that would support new games. Currently, itâs really hard to promote your game and get those first few visits. A section like this can alleviate some of that pain.
Now I donât know how the logic behind this would work, but it could be one of these:
- Hand-picked games published within the last 3 months
â Downsides being this method requires labour and humans are imperfect - Highest like rating ratio (game must be over a week old and/or have maybe at least 500 favourites)
â Downsides being vulnerable to like exploiters (then again with the new captcha a lot of them have been blocked out)
Iâm all out of ideas. Maybe you guys can help out. Iâm just trying to help improve the game interface as itâs really hard for a seasoned player to find a new, exciting game.

Yea dude like the featured page shouldnât even exist. If a game is actually good, players will play the game, you donât need a page to tell players what is goodâŚ
