Starting today and over the coming weeks, we will be running a test on the sort order for the Games page. Our goal with this test is to determine how we can surface the best content to our players.
Depending on your account information, you may see a variety of sort orders changing. For example, you will notice that we are surfacing Featured and Popular Near You higher on the Games page.
Roblox will be closely monitoring the impact of these changes.
This is an interesting change, and I think it’ll have a decidedly positive impact on the relevance of games on the front page! I’m looking forward to hearing your results, and hopefully we’ll be able to encourage smaller developers to grow and get a more diverse and interesting game selection!
Pouplar near you would mean games that people play, who live around in your area. Basically if your town played ROBLOX, the most games that they play would be popular near you. Hope I helped.
Sounds like a promising initiative. Looking forward to seeing a wider variety of games and the opportunities that come with a more dynamic front page sort.
I know although they haven’t implemented that yet. Since it’s not a thing (and probably won’t be for a while too) I don’t see any reason to mention this now.
If my memory serves me correctly, Roblox already somewhat sorts based on popular in your age range (<13 or >13). Pretty sure there was some sort of A/B update on that a few months ago.
