Reproduction Steps
After the chat background fades out to transparent, tap in the area where the chat input box would be. Your text will remain invisible until it either “breaks to a new line” (separate bug), or until you unfocus and re-focus the text input.

Expected Behavior
I would expect my text to be visible while I am typing into the chat input.

Actual Behavior
Chat text is invisible until either unfocused and re-focused or until the line “breaks” (although text doesn’t actually wrap on mobile?). Oddly, the text input cursor shows up occasionally too.

This happens in both portrait and landscape views, and in multiple experiences.

Workaround
Either:

  • unfocus and re-focus the text input
  • allow the chat to fade in before typing
  • type until the text “breaks” into a new line (although text isn’t actually wrapping, but the box still expands)

I have the same problem, you can temporarily fix this by just reentering the chat.

Yes; this still appears to be an issue in experiences within the Android app.

This bug seems to have been fixed a few months or weeks ago. I can’t reproduce it again. I surely was able to constantly reproduce it before.

Hello, this issue of invisible text occurs when copying and pasting for some people in Roblox!

My bad, this bug is still happening, I misread the bug report and didn’t realize that the chat box had to fade out so this bug can occur. It affects both TextChatService and LegacyChatService.

Pinging @PotionSeller33, @DrRanchDressing and @be_nj since I believe they work on this field.

Bumping this Bug Report to remind that this bug is still happening and in both TextChatService and the Legacy Chat System. I hope that this bug will get fixed soon along with the other UI and UX issues that most predominantly affect TextChatService.
