Is there any information on if they are planning to add functionality for changing the proximity radius or to enable the ability to make the chat not proximity based? Also team voice chat when? Also an event so we can script our own custom indicators for the VC instead of the stupid over-the-head one that tells you nothing if you aren’t looking directly at the person speaking?
I don’t even care if those things aren’t planned. I just want to have a definite yes/no answer since I’m asking for what is either the 7th or 8th time now. I mean I hope they are planned, but this radio silence on every time it’s been asked is really frustrating since it’s not just me who asked for this functionality.

Roblox can’t accept school IDs because they are not issued by the government, and are not a proper way to verify identity. Second you can’t moderate voice chat it’s impossible
Would be amazing if, in a way there was some AI technology involved where you were able to verify your roblox account by having to:
Take a selfie of yourself or such thing, Later on having to verify it with an ID or a picture of any credential. The AI would go trough a process of comparing both images to estimate if the user is over the age of 13, if succesful it would verify the player. That would not just make the entire process simpler but also allow those who cant verify with any government documents to join the spartial voice program.
If you don’t want to enable Spatial Voice for every place within your experience, you can disable Spatial Voice within specific places that would otherwise be voice-eligible through the EnableDefaultVoice property.
If you are currently setting Max Players to a value over 30 to disable voice in a place, it is recommended to use this property instead. This ensures that Spatial Voice remains disabled when max user limit changes.
To disable Spatial Voice for a place:
In the Model tab of the menu bar, navigate to the Advanced section, then click the Service icon. The Insert Service dialog displays.
Select VoiceChatService.
In the Explorer window, select VoiceChatService.
In the Properties window, disable the EnableDefaultVoice property.
Restart your servers to ensure the change takes effect for all servers currently running your experience.

developers cannot move the voice chat icon somewhere else other than right above the character’s head, and
the voice chat icon cannot be hidden from within the client’s settings menu,
I don’t really see a reason to ever use voice chat. It’s way too invasive when I’m trying to shoot a superball and I’m accidentally clicking the button over and over.
I’m hoping there’s going to be an API so things like ATC/comms are possible for aviation and other types of games. Though it’s been 6 months since this was announced and I feel like it’s something that’s just been neglected or forgotten about.
I agree, I feel like roblox is steering more towards automation with poor execution. The only reason I see the MaterialService feature having so much customization is cause if it doesn’t sure people will still use it but you’ll be limiting people from so much potential once again showing the true limitations roblox is providing to its developers compared to other engines.
I’d love to see some of the more needed features in spatial voice released or this is gonna end up in the trash just like the decoration feature… Get it? cause the decoration feature is trash (dear god finish that feature)
We would like to announce that from today Spatial Voice is supported in places with up to 50 Max Players, previously Spatial Voice was limited to places with up to 30 Max Players.
Please note that all places with 31-50 Max Players in voice-enabled experiences that have not explicitly disabled voice by EnableDefaultVoice, will have Spatial Voice enabled.
