There is no false advertising related to this item. It said limited time.
Cant lie people in this forum are taking this way to seriously.
Like the headphones and shades had the same tagline ? why is one limited but not the other
There is no evidence for either sides, i think it should be limited cause there a pair, its stupid that isnt it actually. like common sense ?
Also why are people so desperate for rare offsale inventory’s anyways ?strong text
I’ve already explained my reasoning. If you don’t have a rebuttal it just seems like you want it offsale just because.
This is not a bug, it was advertised as “Limited Time” not “Limited”
I bought Clockwork’s Golden Shades under the assumption that they wouldn’t go Limited. I would prefer for them to remain that way.
Limited Time ≠ Roblox Limited…
In general, I think that it’s important to mention that some of the reports in this category may be subjective to some degree, so it’s unfair to immediately disregard the OP’s report as not a bug. It’s the team’s place to determine this.
This is a very interesting situation: There doesn’t seem to be an obvious way to handle it. The team has stated in previous reports that they appreciate discussions for these types of issues, so hopefully mods won’t lock this report. Under an objective / common sense lense, it’s reasonable to infer that some users purchased the shades under the assumption they’d go limited because they complement the headphones. However, “Limited Time” implies the shades would go offsale, but the wording was the same for both the headphones and shades. To further help the team, I’ve included a poll below that closes on 7-15-25

Respectfully, I feel like you aren’t really looking at the points I’m making and instead reiterating the same point which I broke down several posts ago. If you have specific feedback about anything I’ve added to the conversation please do tell.
A lot of people overlook the bigger picture with the Clockwork’s Gold Shades. Both the Gold Clockwork Headphones and Shades were sold with the same “limited time” wording. The headphones went limited six months later so it’s understandable people expected the Shades to follow especially since they’re a set.
I’ve seen a lot of Shades owners saying they don’t want them to go limited which I get but some headphone owners likely bought theirs assuming the full set would eventually go limited too. If only one does it leaves things feeling unbalanced. I feel like we should be looking at this perspective through multiple angles, and this is one that is being obscured by the amount of Shades owners in this thread.
The Shades are already rare but when both items used the same phrasing and only one went limited it creates mixed signals. This isn’t only about profit, it’s about trust. If Roblox keeps being inconsistent with these offers over time fewer people will want to buy into them at all.
Did it occur to you that the headphones were not immediately made limited after the availability period ended? That was a completely separate decision they made disconnected from the “limited-time” wording. This is a feature request, not a bug. Your rationale is invalid.
This is true. The headphones went limited around 6 months after the offer including them was made unavailable. You could obtain them from May 7-15 2024 and they became limited on November 15 2024.
I am of the mind that “limited time” does not necessarily signify that an item will go limited but something like “limited quantity” would because of how limited items have historically worked.
It wasn’t immediately but I explained in the original post it happened exactly 6 months after they went off-sale. I don’t understand what you’re trying to get at.
This isn’t a bug. As far as I can tell—after doing some digging myself—there’s no official statement or documentation anywhere suggesting that this particular item was ever meant to become Limited. The original poster also didn’t provide any concrete source or indication to support that claim. So expecting it to turn Limited seems to be entirely based on assumption, not on anything that was actually promised.
Just because a promotional item eventually becomes Limited doesn’t mean every follow-up or replacement item will do the same—unless that’s been explicitly confirmed.
Also, a few people in the replies kept repeating the same points over and over. Once you’ve made your point, there’s no need to keep restating it. It only clutters the thread. Unless a staff member steps in with clarification, there’s really no reason for this discussion to stay active—there’s no bug here, and no unmet expectation that was clearly communicated in the first place.
I don’t think you understand what’s being said - Many purchased the Golden Clockworks at the time it went limited, being misled as to think the Gold Clockwork Shades would become limited around the same time. This can be observed by the early charts of the item which show it did extremely well on early resale.
Since they both contained the word “limited time”, it’s not hard to see many people were confused when the item never went limited.
And for Gold Clockwork Shade owners - I understand you want a “rare item”, but siding with Roblox in allowing them to essentially pick and choose what becomes limited because you want a “collectors inventory” is pretty embarrassing.
What if I argue that the headphones shouldn’t be limited instead of the shades becoming limited?
Neither were advertized as a limited item and the headphones going limited seems to be the issue here, especially since none of the other robux promotional items went limited.
It’d just be preffered if the set had a consistent behavior, whether that be both being limited or both being offsale. The advertisement here obviously has a consistency issue once the Gold Clockworks Headphones had became limited.
If they plan to make an item limited, they should advertize it with the actual limited logo. My guess on the reason thay haven’t been doing this is possibly that it could decrease the value of items if people 100% knew it would go limited before buying? I believe it’s happened before with other items (IIRC the hunt commando?)
In this case, they probably saw the absolute failure of the headphones (and dissatisfied owners) and decided not to make the shades limited based on that? It would explain the inconsistency.
In the future, Roblox needs a standard for what is a limited time item and what will become limited.
The problem is, there is dozens of items that use the same branding, with some limited and many not.
This includes this item, and the ones from the Classic. It needs to be made consistent in the future and the right thing to do would be to make those under the old branding be made limited.
Wouldn’t it be to make items branded as “limited” actually limited and items branded as “limited time” NOT limited and instead marketed as exclusives in the future?
I agree with this, not only because it’s the “right thing” to do, but because there are multiple items changed by Roblox engineers in the past that correspond to this issue;
Roblox should learn from these mistakes, and make sure not to use the limited time branding on items that are timed exclusives. In that case, use a timer icon or the “sale” tag. If the limited status on a series is inconsistent, it raises concern with players who spend money and fail to receive what they were advertised.
