Clockwork's Golden Shades Never Went Limited

In the future , items that will go off sale should be called exclusives and those that will go limited should be called Limited/Limited Time.
But, we have like a ton of items branded as limited time, with half going limited and the rest not.
To remedy this, and to be fair to those who assumed it would go limited based off the branding, we should make this and other items branded limited/limited time Limiteds.

What about those who assumed it WOULDN’T go limited then?

@GyroEffects Since you’ve just looked into the case of Peppermint Top Hat, would you mind reviewing the Clockwork’s Golden Shades?

That’s a fair point but I think it’s up to Roblox to make the call on this.

Purely coincidental and speculative. The lot of you just want this to go limited to make money. I do not care either way, I just want you to know it is not a bug. Nobody thought it was going limited because it never said it was going to be. Confusion is not a bug.

It is posts like this that waste staff’s time.

“Confusion is not a bug”

This isn’t confusion, it’s misadvertisement, and consistently solved by engineers at that.

I would like to see Clockwork’s Golden Shades go limited, but this isn’t a bug. Just because the headphones went limited doesn’t mean the shades would go limited. As an owner of these shades I did not think they were gonna go limited when I bought them due to it being promoted with “Limited Time” and not “Limited”.

Yes, the problem is some items labeled limited time go limiteds and others don’t.
Roblox has created this air of mystery for users.

It wasn’t promised to go limited, it was promised to be “limited time” which means on-sale for a certain amount of time instead of being promised of being an actual limited itself. We can always agree to disagree how we view this issue but the way that it was set it should be “limited time” as it was here and not anymore for purchase.

It’s like old Roblox sales when they had a timer on it, doesn’t mean that it’s promised to be limited just here for a limited time to buy and if you miss that purchase window then well, you can’t get it anymore. This should be left alone as it could just be another failing item like the headphones are. But, we’ll always agree and disagree how we all view it when the staff gives us an actual answer.

Notice how the confusion made sense for these because they actually were labeled as “limited” and not limited time. Drop this topic.

It’s been dropped since I pinged engineers for them to answer the topic. All our collective reasons have been given and we’re awaiting a response; Not sure what your getting at here.

Limited time is indeed different than Limited, but I do have to say it is probably something that a lot of newer users and younger players may have misinterpreted.

We know Roblox’s intent here was definitely not for the shades to go limited after becoming unavailable, because they would have to deal with a lot of blackmarket people charging back the Robux purchases and selling the item offsite before Roblox can terminate them.

The most realistic compromise Roblox would probably be able to make here is having it go limited sometime later this year closer to the holidays, (similar timing as the headphones) so that its hyped and they benefit from increased Robux purchases at a good time, and also satisfy people who think they were misled. Either way, as much as I love limiteds and try to invest in anything that would be profitable, Roblox really is not entitled here to make the shades limited based off of the screenshots provided.

but why did they make them limited? they really didnt even tell us why to begin with.

This is actually how most items that are made limited work! Aside from sales or a new edition of an event (i.e. egghunts) Roblox has rarely, if ever given out their reasoning behind making an item limited!

Circling back here to state that the poll’s results have been released: 24 for (62%) and 15 against the shades going limited. Please note that even though the popular opinion is for them to go limited, it doesn’t guarantee that the team will actually do this. The purpose of this poll was to help gauge the community’s response and give visitors a direct way to voice their opinion (besides liking others’ posts). Ultimately, the ball is still in the team’s court.

Whether or not Roblox takes this poll into consideration when making this choice, I appreciate that you were able to create a healthy outlet for the varying opinions in this thread.
