Decal projection

Hey, i would like to know if it’s possible to do decal projection on roblox.

Some of the AoE effects I have planned would work best if I could show them visually on the terrain. I’m sure other people would be able to find use cases for it as well. I know this is already sort of doable with Part + SurfaceGui, but it only really works if the projection is small due to terrain

Hello again, After looking for inspiration from videos of other game engines’ development workflows I came across a feature that allowed the developer to project decals onto complex surfaces. Decal Placement System

I wanted to know what other devs think of this idea. I was looking through some speed leveling inside UE4 and Unity and I noticed that there is this feature for decal placement which deforms the decal to fit the surface. So I thought to myself: “Hey that’s cool I’ll try replicating that.” And so I booted up studio and got to work.
