Seems pretty cool actually.
I still have a few loose questions and also, 40 millions? That is a lot…
Maybe we could lower that like… a lot, but this seems like a cool way to interact with larger developers in real life.
Sense the Roblox Developer vs Roblox Star Creator has sparked conflict, this is really the only way to show out to the Developers, but 40 million is VERY high, and has been achieved by a low amount of people.
Something like 1 million would fit much much better (btw, not even some front page game developers could earn this).
The whole pack probably costs under 100 dollars, and 40 million robux is equal to a lot, lot more than a hundred bucks.
This whole post is a perfect.
Also, with a lot of star creators being so big, they have a better chance at getting this than a professional developer who has spent years of their time striving to only make small games.
Because star creators are so big, they can get a game to earn that amount of Robux in a not very long amount of time and get these items, that were literally intended to show Developers that Roblox cares about them as well, because of the drama between devs and star creators.
Either way, if I really cared so much about this, I could probably make these clothing items at home with a few machines.
Even with my points and the quoted above, this holds a very good point as well:
So what is everyone else’s thoughts? Time to read ig.
I can’t argue with you, free stuff is free stuff, but what goes into actually making it free is what really sets a price. Personally, I think it sounds cool, I just don’t think clothing can have much of a physical representation of how much 40m really is. By physical representation, I mean sentimental value, not monetary value.
Although this is a great award for many deserving developers, in my opinion, money shouldn’t be the measurement of success. Sure, if you make this much you ave an obvious success, but so many smaller creators are under-appreciated, and have fantastic and fascinating work. And plus, should we be focusing rewarding people who have already made so much, and have probably cashed out for tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars?
I understand this is just a start, but I suggest other criteria and measurements of success. Not always do the best and most dedicated get the representation they should.
I think its so good! Of course for this $140k you can buy something similar, but its similar and not the same! This is exclusive roblox-styled merch for developers.
The only question i got is how does this work with groups? Im a solo dev, but create games under my group. So how will this work? Since this is automated i got curious how do this work with groups.
Good question, cause archiving the sum probably means your “own” gains,
being a Developer on a group probably doesn’t mean much if that’s the case,
so there’s chances it has to be 40M overall that passed through your account.
I don’t really see Developer of X group profiting over it (unless they did received 40M+ funds) cause they could bypass and use the group count to get the merch easily, but yes, alot of things need to be clarified
To clear up some confusion I believe to get the awards you must accumulate 40M robux from Jan 1018 - Jan 2020. Any robux earned this year will not be calculated and added to your total until Jan 2021, and then again Jan 2022, and so forth. In other words, within 12 month periods your total is recalculated and determined if you get the awards, so it’s lifetime robux recalculated to your total in 12 month chunks.
On the matter, this is great! Roblox is providing awards for developers and it’s really cool to see that we’re being rewarded! To the complainers keep in mind roblox is making an effort to REWARD us. While they started out the bar higher that doesn’t mean they won’t create more rewards that are more accessible in the near future. I dont see why people are complaining on being rewarded, or at least the fact that roblox is starting to take the steps to reward us!
In my opinion it should be visits/playtime based since this is quite irritating for the developers of free2Play games and the 40M is just too high for most of us
But more seriously ,this is a pretty cool idea ,i like how rewarding devs for their hard work is one of the priorities now. Who would say no to free official Robloc merch anyway !?
