Developer Products failing to go through but still taking Robux

Reproduction Steps

Attempt to purchase a developer product in-game, it happens non-consistently however we have received a large amount of reports on this issue.

Expected Behavior

The developer product to purchase successfully and send the Marketplace signal for the purchase being completed.

Actual Behavior

The purchase doesn’t go through, instead the user is met with a Roblox error saying something happened with the purchase and their Robux is still taken.

This is happening to me too but with both developer products and gamepasses. Roblox says the transaction has failed, it takes the robux and we don’t get a ProcessReceipt call.

We’ve had many players report this to us.

I’m also having this issue and it’s happening with gamepasses too. Lots of reports of failing purchases but missing Robux. The transaction doesn’t show for us or the player.

Seems like a critical issue!

This problem is also happening with in-game Avatar Shop purchases too (via PromptPurchase). I have had several people messaging me that they had tried to purchase items within my Catalog experience (Catalog Avatar Creator - Roblox), but the purchase had “failed” whilst still deducting robux from their balance. They had not received the item in their inventory.

I am also receving reports of users who make purchases which claim to fail.

  • They are being charged robux, despite the message indicating that they are not
  • The in-game developer-defined receipt processing API is not being called (therefore, they do not receive the in-game goods)
  • It is intermittent (happens to random users) but it appears to occur multiple times to the same user, so possibly device-specific or account-specific?
