Disable and withdraw consent from AI within Roblox Studio

Despite being promised a UI to manage all AI related features towards the end of this month, we have not been provided with one. So here is how to disable the code suggestion feature (was beta) semi-permanently.

This method is not to be confused with the “Suggest Code Automatically” option and not the code assist feature settings.

Note that this method only works for Windows.

Steps:

  1. Close Roblox and Roblox Studio.

  2. Open regedit.

  3. Navigate to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Roblox\RobloxStudio.
    3.1 This address can be placed towards the top of regedit. No need to navigate yourself.

  4. Right click the “AICOLegalAccept” subkey and press modify.

  5. Change the value data to “false”. CASE SENSITIVE

  6. Launch Roblox Studio.

You may get a topbar asking to enable AI-Powered code completion when first opening a script. Simply close the notification with the X on the top right.

The setting for enabling/disabling code assist has now been rolled out with the new studio release under the Script Editor Studio Settings
