Enter key button shows instead of the send button on the keyboard when using the in-experience chat on Mobile

Hello,

Since a few days ago, the enter key button would show on the Mobile keyboard instead of showing the send button when using the chat on experiences.

While there is a send button on TextChatService that can be used to send the chat message as an alternative to the keyboard send button, there isn’t on the Legacy Chat which made it impossible to send chat messages on experiences that use the Legacy Chat System for example Prison Life.

Expected behavior

I expect the send button to show on the Mobile keyboard when using the chat on experiences as it always did before.

It’s not exactly fixed, in games that use TextChatService, now it would show the “enter key” when you tap into the chat box for the first time but when you attempt to leave it and the keyboard shows back again, it displays the send button instead.

While in games that uses the Legacy Chat system like @Dued1’s Work at a Pizza Place it still shows the “enter key” button.

The keyboard showing back again after attempting to leave chat is another bug affecting Mobile devices (but only TextChatService games) which I have reported here:-

Hello, When attempting to leave the chat on Mobile, the keyboard would disappear, appear again and stays stuck and won’t be gone unless the “back” button is pressed on the device. It seems to be fixed now, the send button is showing at all times, but the keyboard is still showing back again after attempting to leave chat, I hope that this bug will get a fix too.

We have a fix going out soon that should hopefully address the keyboard issue, I’ll send an update in your original post about that bug once it’s out
