Expanding Verified Badge to more Experience Creators

i look forward to when i (part of the 10% of creators who have not been verified) get verified

Thanks for the reply, however you’re successfully alienating that remaining 10% that you are exploring options for by not considering verified non-experience group owners.

  • Groups like Fifteam, Roliday, Creator Challenges and others that myself and my coworkers have been involved in in the past which in my eyes would consider eligible for verification due to official ties with Roblox in the past are swept under the rug in favor of experience hours logged. (Even though we have the hours logged, albeit a few years ago)

  • Pioneering creators with niche expertise, such as audio creators who paved the way for the now large and thriving audio composing communities on the platform are not credited with the verified badge because their job does not consist of logging as many MAUs as possible.

Prioritising experiences over the creators that also built the community to what it is today feels negative, and if you are still looking to capture that last 10%, there are plenty of people in the community who deserve this endorsement from Roblox.

I’m annoyed that Roblox still chooses to prioritise statistics and hand out verified badges to abandonware experiences and groups immediately, yet they always miss out on the creators that helped make the platform leap to how it is today. I truly hope you reconsider this system and think of these creators in the future.

What are hours of engagement exactly, and how would you track that/get that?

My group PANDEMIC. - Roblox has over 138K+ members and our game Zombie Stories has over 125M+ visits. Our game is constantly in Top Rated, Up-and-coming, and Featured sorts. We’ve even been featured in official Roblox videos and social media.

Personally, myself, I have been to RDC every year since 2015. I am an Event Organizer. And at the very least, a notable contributor to the group and game I mentioned above.

I understand why the exact criteria cannot be said, but I’m confused how my group holder account or myself aren’t verified. I feel like anyone apart of an official Roblox program should be verified.

Maybe a form we could fill out could suffice for the time being while you figure out an algorithm to auto verify users/groups?

I hope this information can be more helpful for your research. I look forward to seeing this program develop further to include more people.

I’ve been surprised how unpredictable the verified badge is. I have >60M players on one game, >50K members, and currently contribute to a game in a group with almost 120K members. I’m also part of the original plugin marketplace and signed several NDAs with Roblox for various programs + events. Still no verified badge. People with less members and visits have the verified badge from the looks of it. I get you guys don’t want to publish the requirements because it turns into a specific target. It leaves people confused and me thinking I should spend my time elsewhere because clearly Roblox doesn’t think my time is worth, especially when I have a verified badge specifically for plugins but also “untrustworthy” for models.

This is the part I never understood. Why has Roblox completely forgotten about this, when they could merge both the verified plugin badge and the current verified badge together?? What was the point of the verified plugin badge if Roblox just abandons it in favor of another verified badge?

Neat, I’m verified on Roblox now!

What kind of requirements do accounts like Walmart follow that make them eligible but not brands created by Roblox devs, like our RedMantaStudio account?

Roblox games were always stigmatized for not being “real” games, and Roblox wanted to change this. How does making a distinction between “real” brands and “roblox” brands help here? Walmart is not a person who can ID verify.

Great news! When does this roll out? I am the owner of a verified group but I don’t have the verified badge quite yet.

It’s already being rolled out I think, as people is already getting the badge

Hopefully will get this tag as soon as possible. I have been experiencing as well as my community fake accounts of mine acting as developers in power and scamming my community on discord.

this is cool wow i wondering about this how it works!!!

I have contributed to a group with 200k members and a game with over 27 million visits, but I still do not have the verified badge. I wish the criteria was public so we could see the requirements for the badge.

Good! I’m hoping to get verified on Roblox soon!

Totally should expand this to also allow interns/ex-interns + gamefund participants  to be eligible for this.

I honestly thought the badge was so people can be sure they are playing the correct game and know who the actual owner is or group is. This just seems like another star program thing and has nothing to do with people knowing if the experience or group is authentic.

I’ve got two tilt trophies sitting behind me, attended RDC 2022, and I’m still waiting on verification. I’ve seen people get verified with significantly less engagement on the platform and following than I have. I don’t know where exactly I am placed in the developer hierarchy, but I am a bit confused about how 20M+ hours of gameplay on the games I own through my groups, and develop for, is not enough for verification.

It seems to me there is more to the qualification process than just what is being publically released here. I think a similar example would be the relatively secretive top developers program, where requirements seem to vary significantly.

What does engagement hours mean, and how does Roblox track it? I cannot figure out what this means as it is really un clear
