Hey there!
Recently I was trying to create my first render of my own avatar. This is what I came up with.
Any kind of feedback would be highly appreciated!

Hey there, the avatar looks good, but you can do better by adding some roughness and specular to the character and perhaps adjust lighting to give more colour vibe, for example, slightly yellow/orange for the sun vibe and blue/white for cold vibe. You can make better poses, try using rigs. Nonetheless, this is a good render!
First of all, thank you for your constructive criticism! I rendered an avatar of my friends now - I put a lot of focus onto the lightning.
it looks like she is breaking her leg, also that is not very good because you don’t want to have 1 source of light, i use one at their lower areas, and then one behind, and one infront, that is the key for even lighting
Try googling tri point lightning (there is also an addon inbuilt in blender) to get a better lightning
Greetings,
I recommend using R6 and a rig (rig helps you bend) as R15 looks like limbs are disconnected, if you want a rig/want to try a rig you can PM me on the site or DM me at Msami#3783.
Hey, the pose looks much better now! (except for the leg part) All you have to do is just add the rig for either R6 or R15, but I prefer using R6 more than R15. The specular is there, but, I don’t see roughness, increase more of both. Add more lighting somewhere around back/side and reduce the intensity of lighting and make sure to mess around in lighting settings for the colour vibe. I prefer warm colour, everything looks well.
Hey there, Perfectly.
Both Your renders looks amazing for some first renders. I have some tips that may help you in the near future!
Helpful Tips:
⚬ Perhaps try to increase the roughness & specular of the character.
⚬ I recommend to use a Paint Rig, As it is great for making ROBLOX Graphics rather than posing your character in ROBLOX studio and then rendering it with whatever software you have.
⚬ Try to focus the light from 3 angles, If you dont know how to then simply google it.
⚬ Focus the Camera from a Certain angle to give it more “perspective” and make it “pop”.
Hope these help, Have a good day!
I thank all of you for the feedback! I will definitely try to improve myself with these tips, since I am having a lot of fun making such renders.
For a first render, I must say congratulations! It’s a really amazing render for a beginner. However, I’ll point out a few things.
Personally, I would give another position for the legs. They just look quite unrealistic in my opinion, and a bit disturbing. I am aware that Roblox isn’t reality. If the legs had their original positions, or were just moved a little bit, I think it would look better.
The “bottom” of the arm seems rotated in a “diagonally” way if you get what I mean aha. It looks quite weird and disturbing at my eyes again, it should have the same X rotation as the “upper” part of the arm.
About the left arm, I would personally make it go to the left instead of right, or I would put the arm behind the torso (not too much) if you want to keep it to the right. It just looks sorta weird that the arm is going in the torso in my opinion.
Overall, depending on what software you use, I would try to adjust the lighting.
If you disagree with what I’ve said, it’s completely fine! The key to become a successful graphic designer (overall not just on roblox) is to have a unique style. The way you design, your style, how you do stuff, etc is what’s going to make you stand out to other graphic designers. Keep up the great work!
I like to user HDRIs because they really help with making the lighting more realistic and they are super easy to use.
I think that you should use R6 instead of R15 because it looks much nicer when you bend limbs. If you don’t know how to do this, there are many tutorials on YouTube that you can search for. Also, it doesn’t really look like you are holding the drink. The lighting on your render is really nice, and it looks as if he’s on vacation with a relaxed pose. Best of luck towards improving your graphics.
What rig do you use? Because I just noticed your GFX has wrists and they look better without them in my opinion.
I used R15 for both of these renders.
Do you use a rig though? I use a rig and it’s way easier than just uploading the character as an Obj.
Maybe add a background and lighting?
