Fonts in Creator Marketplace + 81 New Fonts

This is going to make UI a lot more customizable! Would still like to be able to upload my own fonts, but this is at least something. Hopefully in the future developers will be able to make their own fonts.

Wow! I only checked the DevForum just to see if there’s a new topic or replies, but I didn’t expect to see the possibility of many new fonts, and from Google Fonts, at that!

Looking at the list, I was hoping for Sniglet and Roboto Slab, which are both good fonts (and it’s good to see the latter is already here)! If Sniglet inevitably gets added to the Toolbox, my experience will use the same font that I started using for…my previous project, before it was a Roblox experience.

I know there won’t ever be a way to add custom fonts, but really, it would go mostly unused for me. The only custom font I would want to add would be my pixel font, XPinball.

This is another good update, Roblox!

I installed one but I can’t seem to find it in my FontFaces even after restarting multiple times and checking that I have installed it.

Edit: Finger Paint. Other ones work

This is a banger update, for sure. Short and simple, just an improvement with no downsides or anything.

Finally, new fonts to express the different moods and themes that our games have “Thank You Roblox”

Awesome news! I was just complaining about the lack of fonts and choices yesterday, as it severely limited the project I was working on! I can only hope that we’ll be able to upload our own custom font in the future.

Absolutely amazing! I was a little dissapointed every time I made a UI due to the lack of fonts. Will we be able to change the System Chat font? It will make games a lot more immersive!

Really needed this. The severe limitations in terms of fonts has been crazy and makes almost all experiences have the same “style”. It was almost as if you could spot a ROBLOX experience from the fonts alone! :joy:

Ok, when will we get custom fonts tho. Even with 1500 new font’s we will still want the customization.

Interesting.

If you are going to add additional filtering to the font search, there is one type of filtering that is missing from all categories of the toolbox. That is search within a category. This is especially needed for sounds since there seems to be millions of them. I would like to have the option to search with a category and not globally.

I don’t think they will ever allow UCC in fonts. Too much potential to upload copyrighted content.

Would we be able to upload my own fonts? If not, In the future can we upload fonts to use our own ones? I know uploading our own fonts can cause some problems like inappropriate fonts etc, But you guys can make our fonts private for everyone, And make moderators review it before it publishes even if it will take a whole day to review. It will be a game-changing update.

How is that different from images?

This is genuinely a really good update, I’ve always thought the default font selection could be a little limiting in some places, especially with arcade being the only pixelated looking font. 11/10

The font window is more compact than the marketplace window. What is the point of this post?

This is a great update! I found it and used it before i saw the announcement somehow

This doesn’t quite really justify your reasoning for wanting 1,500 fonts in the font picker. Yes, it is more compact than the font marketplace. But nobody wants to scroll through hundreds of fonts in a small window looking for the font they want. All of these fonts under one dropdown would be insanely bloated, messy, and unusable.

My point is that your suggestion to put the 81 new fonts and 1,500 other fonts coming in the near future as announced is a bad idea. It would make for an extremely poor user experience compared to the font marketplace. Developers should install fonts they want to use to keep the font window in properties from becoming cluttered and bloated. Other applications and platforms like Adobe have font marketplaces for the same reason to prevent clutter and bloating. Roblox engineers did a perfect job at implementing this system and I do not understand why you are complaining about the font marketplace being worse than shoving 1,500 options under one small menu.

Love the update
Would be nice if we could set marketplace fonts through the properties window instead of having to use a script
