Your update did not address the ability to disable speculars highlighting on lights. Is this planned?
its called lens flare
Oh my gosh. This looks like a render!
PBR materials are in Studio beta.
i’ve heard that using marble works better with textures over it but they’re probably going to get that fixed in a later update because you shouldn’t have to use marble texture to use fib
Is that the apollo lunar lander you made?! that is impressive!
Who is amazed by the magic of the new Future Lighting?
- Me, it looks amazing!

What would the old plastic glare count as, which I do soon want a way to somehow recreate?
Yeahhhh but marble wouldn’t exactly work for my case and anyway that’s really just a bandaid fix, I hope they just make it a toggleable (I know that’s not a word lol) feature for each light so we can have only certain lights cast shadows and highlights while still being able to use legacy lights.
Hi sorry for asking but could you give some reasons of why you think Voxel is better than ShadowMap ? I’m making a game and I would like to know the pros and cons of the technologies
Which lighting did you use on your games?
- Compatibility
- Voxel
- ShadowMap
- FiB 3

2008:
Other big studios: You’re just a cartoon lego building platform for babies, hahaha.
Roblox: We’re not, you’ll see!
2020:
Other big studios: Hey, we would like to move to roblox now because you look like a free Unreal Engine
Roblox: But you said we were a “lego building game for babies”
Other big studios: We regret that now, just please let us take over…
Roblox and other indie developers: Ain’t happening.
I’ve run this in studio and I have to say. This looks amazing. Going to starter place and running a day and night cycle its just magical.
Yes sir! Its part of a project to honor an old friend leaving the platform, along with that quickly approaching famous date. I’m planning on making a post about progress later on.
Thats great, I have never seen the point in specular maps anyway whenever working in blender, it’s unrealistic imo.
I’m probably stupid for not knowing this, but what’s a specular map? I know a normal map is for the direction of the surface (and therefore how light is reflected when it hits the material, which affects highlights), but I’ve never heard of a specular map.
Me too! I love the lighting on the plants along with the lanterns!
