Graphics quality looks like it's set as one even thought it's at max

A few days ago this bug happened where all graphics quality looks like it was set at 1 even thought it’s set as max. Changing it does nothing or changes barely anything (only noticed shadows lower a little and that’s it)

For reference this is how it should look like (footage from studio where everything is normal):

And this is how it looks like when you join the same game (though, the problem occurs in all of games):

You can clearly see the difference.
Here’s the graphics quality set at max:

Even though you can see on the background that it is not max at all.

I checked if anyone had been stuck with this problem too (I have had this bug for around 4-5 days now), but all I got is the same bug issue report from october 2024 and a couple of ways to solve the problem for one session (which means that if you rejoin graphics will worsen again). Seems like the problem flew up again. Don’t know how much people were affected or is it even a local bug (if it has something to do with my pc build for example) but the bug is there and there’s no actual way to fix it permanently, and it appeared randomly while I did nothing with built at the time.

Expected behavior

Well, a good graphics quality similiar to the one I showed in studio.

Since there’s a graphics issue, include your system information and reproduction files or steps — it’s kind of required for a proper bug report so the engineers can reproduce the issue.

Turn off the Unified Lighting beta. Then, set the lighting to Future. You can turn the beta back on if you want.

Hello, we are taking a look at your issue but, as mentioned above, could you include system information and reproduction steps? Maybe also link the experience you’ve noticed this issue on so we can check it out? Thanks!

Deeply sorry for taking so long to answer;
Processor - Intel(R) Core™ i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20GHz 3.20 GHz
Installed RAM - 16,0 GB
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060
(If need anything else feel free to ask for it)

Here is the my experience’s link where I’ve noticed it - Alley Rain - Roblox

Although I noticed it in my game, this bug occurs in every other experience. Also, like I’ve said, this problem occured randomly, which means that I didn’t modify any of my computer components. By the way, the problem still occurs.

I guess the light appears brighter in the game compared to how it looks in the studio

I have one of the best graphics cards in the world, the RTX 5090, and the game looks like this? It’s almost the same. And obviously on full graphics — no way I’m playing Roblox on the lowest settings with this PC. :skull_and_crossbones::pray:

this bug is also effecting me in every game, and i’ve seen older posts talking about it like this one

This experience was published with Unified Lighting beta enabled. Experiences published with Unified Lighting had an issue where their lighting configs wouldnt be properly read by clients without Unified Lighting. This woud be fixed on 682 clients without you having to do anything.

If you’d like to fix it sooner, please just republish the experience with Unified Lighting beta disabled. It looks like your lighting configurations match up with “Future” lighting.

The issue isn’t something wrong on your machine. It seems the developer has some beta settings on Studio that publish the place with certain light settings not yet available on Client. This makes it so that the place falls back into Shadowmap. Shadowmap only gives you advanced shadows in the global light (moon or sun). At night shadowmap looks nearly identical to Voxel.

Is this issue still occurring? Now that Unified Lighting has been defaulted for a while this shouldnt be an issue anymore on updated studio and clients.

I have started to get this issue on both Studio and the player. Studio’s rendering is at level 21 yet no shadows are appearing. I have also tried to restart my PC but didn’t do anything.

Edit: this was fixed earlier
