What if the thread isn’t exactly inactive? Like a portfolio or such,

As far as I know, no exceptions are made for portfolio posts.

You can only bump in cases where you’ve added a significant amount of new information (significant in this case meaning not just a new screenshot, for example)

Is there anyway to bump/refresh your post?

Hey, so I hope this isn’t a dumb question, but I wanted to ask if there is anyway to bump/refresh your post? I made a portfolio a while ago (September 19, 2019) and was wondering if there is anyway to get it back to the top of the portfolio page? I was told by someone that bumping your post by commenting on it isn’t allowed, so I was wondering if they were wrong or if there is any other way. Thanks!

Generally, no.

Bumping inactive posts is considered spam.

If you add relevant content to the topic sometimes it’s okay to bump, and more often than not preferable over making a new topic in those cases. For example, adding your own use cases to an old feature request, or responding to a solved bug report to say it has regressed + new info, etc. See the post linked just above.
