How to import mesh's from blender

If none of the replies are helping you, I suggest you file a bug report on #platform-feedback:studio-bugs

I just might not know how to import it properly.

You are importing it correctly, it’s a bug from what I can see.

I had the same issue, I re imported. But yes, I think this is a bug.

Is nobody going to ask what the name of the file is?

That’s almost definitely the issue as the default Meshpart stays the same and there’s no feedback on why the mesh failed to upload (all other failures have a pop-up window). Try renaming the file name and try again.

Edit: I saw from the OP that the file name is Grass01, which I know from experience is a filtered word (stupid, I know). Change the name to “Plant01” or something.

It’s so common that I’ve made a feature request for it:

I Renamed it hello still did not work, like @Cinema_Sin said it could be a bug.

Rename it to Meshpart01, if that still doesn’t work, send me the .obj file. I very much doubt it’s a bug.

Personally I use .obj files instead of .fbx files. I import my meshes by inserting a MeshPart, going into the properties of MeshPart, and opening the Mesh + Texture from my desktop

Thats what i’m doing its not working sadly…

Can you send me the .obj file or the blend file?

Still did not work i think its a bug cuz it can’t be the tris thats under 200

Heres the .obj file Meshpart01.obj (8.4 KB) @LargeMakesStuff @Aotrou

Heres the output:
https://www.roblox.com/library/4669511937/MeshPart

Crap its broken ill fix it later this “glich” might just be with me.

Works fine for me. Also your normals are inside out :stuck_out_tongue:

I fixed your normals in Blender.

Here’s the .obj for you to test the importing
Mesh01.obj (8.5 KB)

And here’s the same mesh but already uploaded to Roblox in case the file above is still having import issues.
Mesh01_Model.rbxm (12.3 KB)

All in all, the bug isn’t with the meshpart. You might just need to redownload Studio.

I redownloaded it but i still cant import it but thanks!

Just a question how did you fix the “normals” I have had that problem multiple times.

solution is to go into Mesh > Normals, > Flip Normals

Rather than exporting as obj try exporting it as FBX

I’ve fixed the issue i think the fix is just flip the normals Thanks for all the help!
