Improving Trust & Safety in the Creator Marketplace

This is a good update over all. I like it very much :+1:

Expect…

This is not good, it seems like another place where you are trying to expand ID-Verification, it should NEVER be mandatory, anywhere!
There should be other ways of verifying besides ID-Verification, ID-Verification is not a solution, it can be an option, but not the solution.

Other ways besides ID-Verification to be verified should exists, and none should be recommended more than others.

it would only work for require

as the other ones are able to be dynamically executed.

This is my worst fear, this should NEVER happen, ID-Verification should not become mandatory ever!
We also need other ways of verifying besides giving your real information.

Where as I would throw a counter-argument I sadly have to agree with this, Roblox can’t keep pushing ID Verification to users on a platform where the largest game is targeted towards children, I really do think other alternatives should be introduced or a lot of people are gonna be left out from getting somewhere.

Let’s take the regular trust level, for example, we can easily send in bug reports and other people can confirm that but as for feature requests people say that as a member you should send it in through Roblox Support except where I find that to be an issue is Roblox Support is well… shit, Half the time it’s just bots who respond and when you send a feature idea in any of the feature channels you have hundreds of other people who can add on to that idea and like the post to give the engineers an actual purpose to work on that feature, It’s stating it’s going to be used and the aren’t gonna use it for one game and that’s it (video frames lol)

I really do think Roblox should look towards other alternatives though as long-term ID Verification isn’t gonna go well. (and yes my account is verified)

What a incredible update, love the update, keep it up. This is gonna save so many games and my lazy potato hand.

I got to say the long waiting update I wanted to see, since I joined Roblox so many infected copy models out there this should teach new players not to click on bad ones.

In the future, I think the sorting options should be re-implemented, or at the very least sorting by Recently Updated. Currently with the Library, it seems to prioritize older items, some that are even a decade old and no longer function properly, to say the least. It makes it harder to find up-to-date and functioning resources.

This is really cool! I can finally see if models are malicious in a way or not!

I doubt that would happen since when looking for models you insert every model until you get what you are looking for.

I feel like we should wait and see if this actually happens instead of worrying.

The recent changes have hidden most models that include a require. This also means Adonis.

When wanting to find the original model, it no longer appears. This change has done the opposite then intended.

Now, whenever I search Adonis, fake ones including backdoors show up.

Second thing, showing scripts in models is a good idea.

First thing, isn’t the best as non-verified developers are limited on how far they can push their assets up the toolbox etc…

:white_check_mark: I really think the script warning is useful for new players.

:negative_squared_cross_mark: I don’t enjoy the removal of sorting options. One of my commission works relies on searching for assets like shirts / pants / meshes to create character models. I at least hope they are re-worked completely and make it way easier to search for assets than earlier. If not, I will be disappointed with this update. Thankfully, I have prepared assets for next three updates.

This is great! One question though: how does the ID verification work for items owned by groups rather than individuals? Will the same rules apply so long as the group’s owner is ID verified, or do they just get excluded from the toolbox entirely?

Strongly agreed. Roblox has this growing obsession over verification and it’s really starting to irk me. The original idea of verification was to make sure a user is old enough to access a feature, such as voice chat. Now, Roblox is really starting to force this ID verification thing on everyone despite backlash from the community.

It’s pretty concerning that they’re now calling verified developers “real” developers. Just because a developer is verified doesn’t mean they are trustworthy, and it doesn’t say anything about their experience level. There could be many real developers who are overage and are experienced, but they refuse to verify their account because of privacy reasons. Then are they not considered a so-called “real developer”.

I’m not against the idea of age verification, I just don’t support the algorithm boosting creations by ID-verified developers.

They removed the filters because they wanted less clutter also a few Roblox players today use the filters so they were just there for discovery purposes similar to the removed experience (game) genres.

Thanks for the clarification but, in my opinion, I don’t find that a good enough reason.

Keeping this in mind, ID verification could be the best thing to happen to Roblox, or the worst thing.

Roblox has massive issues revolving around malicious users mqking Roblox extremely unsafe especially for their young audience. It’s easy to circumvent moderation by making alts. The last thing they need are those users accessing powerful features that are dangerous in the wrong hands. The verification allows users to be accountable by not being able to use them again if they make an alt. But all this comes with an issue: If a legitimate user is wrongfully terminated, which happens all too often if you work with other people, or get your account or assets compromised, or if Roblox wrongfully associates your account with malicious activity, it’s game over. The moment you ID yourself again, you’ll be terminated for being an alt.

At least they delegate the data to someone who specializes in securing sensitive data. This ideally makes it harder for it to get leaked if Roblox is compromised, and harder for Roblox to tie account names to someone’s personal data, since it is managed by a contractor.

I’m pretty sure that they are still allowed to use it with alts.

For example, my experience is affected.
I don’t see it anywhere, even though unique phrase is used???
