Integrate Your Roblox Marketplace Items Into Guilded

I think it’s very welcome that Roblox groups and Guiled are joining forces. This makes many things possible for communities that were previously not possible. I’m increasingly considering stopping using my DC server and switching to Guiled . I’m still missing little things that I think would be great to give the last push. For example, I would think it would be great if we could also use chats from Guiled in Roblox (I hope you understand what I mean).

I’m a little late to the conversation here, but for me (and probably many others) it’s less that Guilded is owned by Roblox, and more that Guilded is inherently very heavily linked to Roblox because of that.

A great example of this would be how when Ruben Sim made a Guilded server but due to Ruben Sim being hated by Roblox as much as he is, they not only banned him, but also everyone who was in the server he made on Guilded
(Note: I can’t remember if it was just the Guilded accounts getting banned, or if anyone who had a linked Roblox account also got moderation on their Roblox accounts - Additionally, I can’t find any trustworthy sources on this anymore, so take my word with a grain of salt)

Roblox is known to have horrible support (both for non-legal and legal issues) - who’s to say Guilded isn’t suffering the same issues? (there aren’t enough people on the platform to begin with, much less people who would have needed to contact Guilded support, so nobody can truthfully say if it’s as bad or not - Maybe Guilded has a well staffed and well trained team that actually cares about the userbase, maybe the Roblox support team is working two jobs now, nobody knows for certain)

I outright can’t even trust Roblox to handle something as simple as an asset archival request, because it took 8 months before it was actioned on, despite the fact that for most of that 8 months I had support telling me the request didn’t exist/was deleted.
I also can’t trust Roblox to keep kids safe, because if extremely NSFW images can stay up for years on end despite being reported several times, who’s to say all the groomers wouldn’t make a shift to Guilded from a sheer lack of safety for children on it?

Why would I for even a second trust them to keep my personal chat platform safe and secure?

(As a completely unrelated note, Guilded has emptied my profile twice since signing up, I can only assume they have some sort of inactivity thing which empties profiles of users who don’t use Guilded for X amount of time - my account is 100% secure as far as I can tell, it’s just cleaned out portions of my profile when I leave it alone for months)

I feel you! Some players like me really want to be able to do this but we just cant!

Let’s have a little discussion about the points you brought up.

First with RubenSim, this was proven to be 100% false and misinformation. You bringing this up is spreading this fake wildfire more. Please do even the littlest of research first.

Secondly with Guilded support, the support team existed before Roblox purchased it, and still exists now. Nothing changed nor nothing will change.

Roblox Corporation owns Guilded, you are confusing the game with the company.

The functions and procedures of the game are different from Guilded. You can easily find this out by looking at their policy.

Great feature :+1:
However, it would be pretty cool if you could sell real life items or other virtual items that arent on Roblox. :eyes:
For example: selling real life merch (useful for content creators), selling Steam games or dlc (useful for Game developers), selling Steam workshop maps/skins for specific games like Gmod (useful for modders) and much more.
It would be really cool if this marketplace thing got expanded for non-Roblox players, content creators and developers, since that would make Guilded be more appealing. (Oh and you could also make it so Guilded earns maybe 5% per item sold.)

Since when did Roblox have a Linux client?

It doesn’t, they are taking about the Guilded app.

Will we be able to one day grant Roblox items for certain criteria? For example: if someone were to get a role for reaching level #, they could get an item for their accomplishment. Seems like a good opportunity to get people to be a lot more active.

The features announced in this thread are fine in a vacuum, positive even. Nothing but love for the teams who worked on these features. But I really think this Guilded push is moving the platform in the wrong direction.

These efforts to integrate Guilded servers into Roblox Groups and vice versa really have me pessimistic that we’re ever going to get a proper update to groups.

Some of us have been waiting an entire decade for basic new features to be added to Groups, which have had next to no improvements since they were first released early on in Roblox’s history. (I chose that particular Devforum thread to link to because I remember seeing it many, many years ago and was excited when the thread’s author became a Roblox employee, though it seems she no longer is one and her ideas for Groups were never added.)

Finally, after all these years, Roblox made an amazing change that allowed us to post eye-catching announcements that even support images! But it’s not actually a new Roblox feature, it’s a feature of a separate platform that Roblox wants to promote because they’re the parent company. More customizable announcements should just be a feature of Roblox, not something you can only unlock by signing up for the struggling platform Roblox bought out.

This new marketplace integration being announced here is great news for everyone who’s happily using Guilded, but let’s be honest, the reason why this feature was made and this announcement was posted is because not enough people are using Guilded and Roblox is optimistic that they can convince people to switch over with enough shiny new features, even if it means gatekeeping features that should be part of Roblox behind Guilded. And let’s not forget when Roblox made it mandatory to use Guilded in order to participate in the official RDC Game Jam. I think we all recognize just how hard it is to abandon one social platform in favor of another (e.g. the many attempts at creating an alternative to Twitter). The one feature Roblox can never add to Guilded is our friends, and that’s the one thing that decides what platform we stick to.

Again, huge props to the engineers who worked to make these features, they’re all on paper nothing but positives. But I think Roblox has their priorities misplaced and it’s to the platform’s detriment.

Please add light mode to guilded! Guilded is currently unusable for my community because it is in accessible for some of our community members! Light mode is a necessary accessibility feature! We want to make the switch but we can’t until we have light mode!

No more discord censoring… Please?

How are they gonna add something like this to Discord?

Bad wording I suppose.

I am asking for Roblox to stop tagging the word Discord :joy:

To your point, Groups have not seen a lot of iteration in some time, and the community really wants to see them evolve. We were eager to lend our team’s strengths to help make that happen, and that means investing in things that will provide value long-term, but also improvements that provide value now.

One of the ways we can do the “now” part is by leveraging our product’s robust toolkit to add features that can make the Group experience better, sooner. Announcements are one example of that. These features will get better over time, with more convenient ways to take advantage of them, and with adjustments based on your feedback, but you don’t have to wait until then to get value out of them now. And being unsatisfied with these features is okay, too — that’s what we gather feedback for. So don’t ever hesitate to call out those things that bother you, or things that aren’t serving your community’s needs. We’ll do our best to incorporate that into our work.

I understand your concern, and I know that it matters less what I say and more what we actually deliver. So I won’t ask for your patience because you’ve all already given so much of it, but I will say that we’re excited about what’s to come and look forward to sharing it with you.

Can you please add the ability to embed roblox item thumbnails into messages on Guilded using your image endpoints feature? It would be a great utility for Guilded bots and webhooks that interact with the roblox site (main use cases I can think of: getting avatar thumbnails or decal thumbnails when someone completes a staff application or in-game report respectively). I wasn’t sure where to put this post.

Cool idea, but I dont think I can name a single person who uses guilded?

Thats exactly why Roblox is adding these features. Guilded is owned by Roblox, so Roblox adds features together with Guilded to boost Guilded.
