You are right! The origin of this tradition goes all the way back to 2017 when it was posted by @TheNexusAvenger in the Introduction thread for new forum members. Here is the historic post that started it all… WELCOME TO OUR CLUB

Oddly enough, that was basically the post that ended it all instead of started it all. Introduction threads were much more common back when the developer forum used Kunena instead of Discourse and members were in the low hundreds of users. Now they only happen for staff members due to the scale of the forum.

I was actually talking about it starting the tradition of linking the WELCOME TO OUR CLUB video in introduction posts, but that is very interesting. Wow, that’d be chaos if they still did an introduction for everybody. Now I’m wondering, was the WELCOME TO OUR CLUB video actually used in introduction posts even before that one I linked to?
