Lucky me I checked and realised I gained access! Woohoo!!
I think that, so far, the talent hub is an improvement. However, can there be an option to add images to our “Experience” Category? I don’t want to link a game where my models can be stolen.
I actually have no idea how this happens, I think its open to people who are really active on the forums ( Correct me if I’m wrong )
I feel like the scale for most things in the talent hub is off. Everything feels too large and clunky. The job listings are massive, with only 2 and a half being shown at any time. The header and footer are also unnecessarily big and are taking too much space. Adding an option to display more listings per page would be great. Saving previous filter settings would also be great.
To add on to what you said, 2-step verification should be required to change account settings if it is turned on. (Or the upcoming 2FA feature) Then, the pin wouldn’t be used anymore, and could be a parental feature.
In my opinion, that’s the simplest way for Roblox to make the pin for parents, and still allow people to have a similar feature and access everything on the Talent Hub.
They appear to be doing a release in waves, as they like to do normally. I have access, although I check and use the devforum daily and have been a member for years. Just like with verification on the platform, things will become clearer with time. Just wait till September 1st. Hopefully when it releases fully we will receive information on how to both join and become verified on the talent hub.
Also, for staff that are reading these replies, I’d like to see the character limits increased on creator pages. My projects contain many systems which I’d like to describe fully, and it would be helpful to be able to stand out more in my bio by describing more specifics in my area of focus. Also, please add the ability to add photos and media to past experience. The talent hub is supposed to replace the collaboration section, but the collaboration section is much less restricting when it comes to creating portfolios.
Hate to inform you but a 4-digit static code is not enough entropy to stop someone from taking over your account if they’re serious about it. Someone can brute force that in no time while you’re offline, probably. PIN is a parental safety feature, not a true security feature. Roblox is working on proper 2FA through TOTP (e.g. what Google Authenticator offers you), which is actual security.
I thought I’m going to get access by 15, guess not. I want to move my Portfolio as soon as possible.
I agree, that would be smart on Roblox’s part if they implemented that.
I started scripting nearly 1 year ago and seeing the talent hub come out will be great for me where I can hope to find a team. I actually really look forward too this
Not saying that at all – don’t put words in my mouth please! Reasoning fallacies like this don’t promote a healthy discussion.
A password and a PIN fall in the same category of “what you have”, “what you are”, “what you know” (both fall in “what you know”). 2-step verification falls in “what you have” to some extent (provided your email is secured with 2FA) so is more appropriate as a security feature over PIN. 2FA via TOTP is more appropriate for the “what you have” category so is superior to 2SV.
I think there is an error since I tried to create a new post, but then it was not published, and the other error is that I can’t make changes to my post. (because I violated the rule of the talent-hub platform rule since I was new to this, so I’m trying to abide by the rules, but changing my post doesn’t work either)
i believe the talent hub is open for everyone on the devforum (members+ only). i’m not really going to use the talent hub since i don’t have any use for it yet
is it already available for you or is it still not letting you access it?
Why? Do you just not do commissions?
well, not really since i don’t exactly do commissions. in fact, i don’t know what those are
I gained access to this on the 13th but just check it yesterday and I am very happy with what I see but I do have my concerns.
Firstly - A pin was never a secure manner for me, I always used a regular password and 2FA Email which has worked fine with me since 2017 so don’t know what the fuss is about. Anything @buildthomas said is very true and I agree on everything he said about this topic.
Anywho, I like the design and the layout for everything although the finding jobs page seems to be too big in my opinion I like the layout we had on the dev forum since I was able to see soo many jobs at once rather than 1 - 2 at a time. I enjoy the filtering since it did not have the same mechanics as the dev forum had with no way to filter out the different types of payments and the filters were never precise. While Talent Hub has filtering payments and certain jobs which is my most favorite thing since looking for a job with no promise of payment was difficult sometimes. I think applying for jobs is a great idea or inviting people to work for you is a genius idea. Though I liked how much you can express yourself on the dev forum in portfolios rather now we have to work with experiences. Now I know I am not the only one who can’t remember all the projects they worked on from day 1 so experiences is a good idea but perhaps make a separate page for portfolios rather than trying to put it all in one. Lastly, if you did keep them all in one idea I would suggest making it to be able to upload pictures and resize them as we had on the dev forum since it will be easier to see someone work when inviting them to work for you. Again great idea but needs some thought on how to do some things.
(Extra: When editing my bio or my experience/portfolio thingy it won’t allow me to space out my sentences like below
Hello Space Out
Even More Space Out
It Looks Like This Instead
Hello Space Out Even More Space Out)
EDIT:
Been on it a little more and realizing notification not just to the email but to the talent hub account will be useful, Also probably the worst thing I hate about this site is that child censored is on? Like my account is above 13 being I am 16 but I can’t say Discord in the DMS? Another thing about the dm’s I wish you could close a dm or hide instead of it just being there taking space. Again pictures are def needed more than ever for dm conversation if you want to try to prevent us from going to Discord to talk and actually stay on the talent hub page and talk there which with these website fails I don’t see anytime soon.
Hey there, I don’t know if someone already mentioned this, but I have a couple suggestions. The first is I think that the bio description should be 1000 characters or at least 500, 300 is just too few, I can’t write very much at all.
Second, I think to help improve verification factors, there should be a commissions count on everyone’s profile, that way you can put in filters and see people who are doing this for a long time, or are brand new. Maybe there needs to be like a commission button, like there both the client and the one doing the commission both have to click agree(this could also end up being like a contract thing and help prevent scamming).
The third thing is there needs to be a five star rating system for so people can actually see if the person is legit, people should only be able to put a rating up if they actually made a deal with the person(again possibly through that agree button). Or maybe a five star rating should go with the review feature when it comes out.
well 1000 combinations still provides some security which is better than nothing. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
But yeah I agree.
However the 2FA should be different from login 2FA. I mean like have 2TOTPs one for log in and one to to act as PIN.
So having a TOTP code prompt to change account settings, not just prompting one on login? I think that’d be the point, yeah.
After having used this for a few days, I think it’s good, but in need of some modifications.
First of all, please just remove the censorship. The talent hub will never be able to compete with the devforum if even simple numbers are censored. I am 18+ and am interested in working on commissions full-time in a professional environment. It looks horrible when my messages get reduced to “Hi! I’m interested in this position. I have ## years of experience…” (This literally just happened to me). This tool should be targeted at adults looking to make real money and should be treated as professional software.
And to that end, why not integrate Discord altogether? Discord is where everyone is going to go for serious conversation anyway, even without Roblox’s over-protective moderation. It just has more features than a Roblox messenger ever will and works way better. Please give us a way to quickly get onto Discord and talk.
Other than those two points, this is a great idea. I’m looking forward to it going fully-public!
