My name is Xontez and am mostly known for making GFX, Game Icons, Game Thumbnails, and UI Designing! I also am pretty good at scripting and it feels great to be a part of this community.
- My son wanted to play Roblox so I started playing it to check out the platform first. And now we play it together loads, and now my daughter has just started also…
- I’ve been a software dev for years, mostly .NET so I thought it would be cool to make a game my kids can play in Roblox so now I’m learning Lua.
- I’m currently just trying to finish my first game
- I’m sole developer, builder, designer etc… but my core skills are development.
- Thanks for reading, I’m really hoping to get some advice on the Lua side of things and just how the whole scripting of Roblox games hangs together and what can and can’t be done client/server side and how you know whether you are on the server or client-side. I’ve done tons of web development and found the client/server split pretty easy to pick up but I’m really struggling with Roblox for some reason

i am aymane1go, i’ve been in roblox for about 5 years. i discovered it in youtube, i don’t really remember wich youtuber it is. i got started in developing by building, then later on i switched to scripting. my current goals is to realese a game with my team. as i said eirlier, i am the scripter on the team.

In 2016, My cousin showed me a game on ‘ROBLOX’ on his phone, I thought it was pretty cool that people made games and paosted them in a big game, instead of just 1 simple game. So I decided to join. I started coding in C# and realised that I can start making games that now I’m good at c# lua wont be too hard, so I went on learned lua and now im here! As a game developer on ROBLOX. My goal is to make 1 page and make it last on the front page for at least a single day, or to just make a game and get at least 100 active/current players for a few days straight! In this community, I have joined as a Programmer/Scripter mainly because I find it cool that you can just tell a computer what to do with a set of instructions and it will do just that. I wish everyone good luck and that they leave a mark on the community and create awesome games! Good Luck everyone!

Hello, I’m new here to the developer forum, and it feels great to finally be here.
I’ve been on Roblox for about 4 years now and I’m currently 16 years old, meaning I joined when I was 12 years old. About a year into playing Roblox I joined the anime Roblox game community and have been with it for 3 years. I began modeling early 2019, and although I feel pleased with my work, which led me here to get better criticism on my work.
P.S. I’ve mainly do low-medium poly weapon models, still practicing.

First of all, I know this will be lost in the other replies by great scripters and developers but I’d like to write this for myself mostly.
1. How did you find Roblox?
I’ve been playing roblox for years. It was my favorite game as a kid growing up, starting at around 3rd - 4th grade. I wasn’t really big on the community but I played a lot, didn’t make many friends but that’s ok.
2. How did you get started with development on the Roblox platform?
Well I got started by watching DevKings Videos, he seems like he has the right knowledge and skills but as a new scripter it’s kind of hard to follow why he does some things. Because of this, I often have the api open as well.
3. Current goals/achievements on the platform
Ultimately, my goal is to achieve a respectable amount of skills in scripting and the development process as a whole. In fact, I’d like to surpass those with more experience with me. I like to believe that I could use the knowledge of current scripters as a stepping stone, no offense. Their skills will allow my skills to develop as well, if that makes sense.
4. What is your role in the developer community? (eg. GFX, UI Designer, Programmer, Builder etc)
I am a Scripter.
5. Anything else you would like to include?
I’d like to say that I appreciate knowledge at all levels, I like seeing a community of people work together to bring everyone up. I am a very diligent and hard worker, I’d like to believe, and in the future when I do accomplish my goals I’d like to be there for the community of people with less knowledge than I. I know it’s kind of optimistic, I know, but in the past 3 weeks of learning, 3 weeks as of today 6/29/20, I’ve found something to drive me. It’s really a fun experience so far and I’d really like to build a presence here. Also, I am 17 going into my senior year so I kind of have a late start but, that won’t stop me from trying to be one of the best.

Hey guys, hope you guys are having a wonderful day. I finally got promoted to member and am very excited to be a part of this community!
I’ve been on Roblox for so long that I forgot how I found it, but it has influenced a huge change in my life and sparked my interest in programming and development.
I first started development trying to make a game based on an anime called Sword Art Online. Back then I just wanted to be the ‘game director’ and hire a bunch of developers, I had 0 knowledge about development back then so I was practically just trying to be an ‘ideas man’ sort of member to the development team. After getting together a bunch of developers together and telling them my idea and what each of our roles is, including mine, they did not react in any sort of way over the call. However, later on, the team broke apart and kicked me off the development project because I served no purpose on the development team. After that, I kept opening Roblox Studio now and then and watching lots of youtube videos to learn to script. The first code I made printed “Hello World,” and then I just made a bunch of different things from there on!
Right now, I am working on a sword-fighting game that is influenced by Sword Art Online to an extent, and by lots of other MMORPGs. I am doing everything for the game by myself, and that is the commitment I have made to myself - to make a game by myself. So, I do GFX, UI, Programming, Building, 3D Modeling, SFX, Marketing, etc.
I really look forward to contributing to this community a lot more now that I have become a member, and I look forward to working with all of you!

My username is Aesorial and I started playing Roblox in 2014 while I was watching youtubers playing this game. However, I only begun developing in 2016 and put my focus towards the building aspect of development. Though, I do have some knowledge on 3D Modeling and Scripting, they are too novice to consider myself a developer in those categories. My goal is to improve my skills in Building and potentially 3D Modeling and Scripting too. I’m exciting to work on any future projects I am involved with and I appreciate the opportunity to do so through the Roblox Devloper Forum.

Hi, I’m Haxicle. I found Roblox in late 2012 after my cousin showed my brother the game who in turn showed me. Ever since then, I’ve been obsessed with the platform and the variety of games it includes. Throughout my whole “gaming career” I’ve always thought to myself “I wish this game would add this, or I wish this game would add that,” but I could never get in touch with developers so those things were never added. However, more recently I started thinking, what if I tried creating a game? Thus, I started learning to script using CKStudio+ among other resources and honestly really like it. However, I’m still pretty new and have a lot more to learn.
I would say I have a few goals on Roblox. My first would to see what I can do and what I can create through coding. Then, my second would probably be to be able to make a career out of this, which I’m sure is difficult, but seems like a dream job to me. Lastly, my main goal is to have fun, whether I’m playing a game or trying to make a game.
If it isn’t clear by my previous statement, I do think I will focus on programming, but I am trying to learn other skills just to see what it’s like and get some experience. I look forward to learning from you all and hopefully eventually helping others learn!

I found Roblox way back in the day when my friend used to play it. Then I was younger and was very new to the Roblox community. I joined on my account minlegoe and just enjoyed Roblox. Then later on around 2 - 3 years later I started taking an interest in coding and the development community. Making my first unfinished game Clash of Castles. (Never Finished) Then I thought about it and wanted to start a new path and a new way. And let my brother use my minlegoe account so I can start a new. A Development one. Where I spent most of my team learning about coding. Then I got a position at a Group called |BA| -British Army- Owned by ReaperAaron. Before I used to be known as Vexcon1. Then later I joined The Reaper Family and became ReaperNexcon. I never imagined my life would change on such a huge scale from a small project to an entire army with over 200K+ members. I’m Currently a GFX Animator and a Programmer. And for any new developers. I wish them luck on their journey as I believe mines just started.

Hello, I am Mashiusam, real name Kaan.
I’m new to here but old to ROBLOX. I joined on 2010, although I lost access to that account and despite my greatest efforts, I could not get it back. My first programming experiences started with ROBLOX. Today, I am having a great academic success as a Computer Engineering undergraduate student. I love this game and all that it contributed to my childhood and sparked my interest in programming. Having recently started to pursue a hobby and an internship in game development, I decided to give ROBLOX a try once again and develop a game. I am finding the platform to be nothing short of amazing, in fact wondering how I am going to get back into other engines after I am done with my project. I have a goal of finishing the project I have been working on for two months, it is very close to an alpha release and I am very proud to be a part of this community. During these two months, this forum has helped me out an uncountable number of times. I dream that my game will be a success, with the definition of that being an enjoyable game that many people will play and love. I worked on my project solo, with a bit of game development experience before, which means I am at least decent at all areas, but obviously I am a programmer by heart and that is where I excel. See you all around.

Hello all! I’m Va_ue, an aspiring roblox developer! I’ve been on roblox since 2014 (on multiple different accounts). Roblox has always been one of those games for me that makes me come back every time I think I’m ready to quit. I first got started with development about 4 months ago when this Covid-19 pandemic hit my home country. I had a lot of time on my hands and thought Roblox development would become a good hobby for me. I’m working on many projects of my own right now, and I hope to become a well-known developer and person in the roblox community one day. I am mainly a programmer, however I do it all.
