Introduction thread for new forum members

Hello! My name is Fybirr and I recently join the Devs Forums as of today!

My main work is done with animations! I do build as well, but as of now my current field of work is specifically animation!

My goals are to be able to become a successful animator one day, Currently I am an animator for the game Funky Friday on Roblox so I am one step closer to my goal!

Hopefully I’ll be able to fit in the Dev Forums, I appreciate the time taken to read this!

Greetings, as you can guess I am new here and I’m really glad to join in the game developing conversations!
I am KanjiKnight, I found this game when I was young and was blown away by all of the games on the platform and inspired to one day make my own. I haven’t gotten much started though, still trying to learn Lua, building, animating, the basics. The last sentence answers the 3rd so I would say undecided. And that’s it, thank you for letting me in.

Hey! my name is 24kGraphic. I’ve been playing this game for about 4 to 5 years now and I really enjoy it! One of my friends back in 6th grade persuaded me to get this game on mobile and I pretty much got addicted to it. Later on I kinda got desperate for robux so I spent a bunch money on apple gift cards. Though, I kept forcing myself to buy more and more each day which led me into trouble. So I was dragged into developing realizing I could make robux this way. My role in the developer community has always been low poly building. I have specialized building for about 2 years now and I am in love with it. My only goal on this platform is to dev ex. And yeah!

Hello! My name is Comet. I am quite new to the forum.

I found Roblox back when I was a lot younger; in 2012. I hadn’t made an account until 2014 though, which is my current account. This account has been here since the start!

I started developing around 2015 (I think). I have done 2 types of development: GFX making and building. However, I wasn’t able to dedicate much time to either of those, and had to stop both building and creating GFX. In late 2020, when I had more time, I started getting back into both GFX and building! Now, I put a lot of time and effort into both of these, and I enjoy them a lot.

My current goals on the platform are to improve my building skills and hopefully learn how to script, in order to get into game development on this platform. I have been interested in game development for a while, however, I never tried to learn scripting, so this will be an exciting new experience! I want to be able to build things that I would see on Roblox and think “Wow, this is amazing!”

I would consider myself a builder in the developer community, as it is the thing I do and enjoy the most. I love that I have the ability to build whatever comes to my imagination, and it’s a great way for me to pass the time. However, I would love to try things I haven’t done before, such as programming or designing UIs.

Thank you for reading, and I hope that I am able to be a great member of this community.

Hi! My name is Incapacitato or Clarence, I go by either.

I started playing ROBLOX in 2013. I was introduced to ROBLOX by a cousin of mine. I think that the game that got me hooked was Dragon Ball Imploding Galaxies.

I would say I started developing around 2018 but that was just me messing around in studio and making very small projects using mostly tutorials to make them. I wouldn’t say that I took learning and developing seriously until around 6 months ago. That was when I started the project that I am on right now.

My current goal is to polish my fighting game into something really incredible. Being my first project, there are so many new things that I learn and implement into it. My vision is for it to become one of the bigger fighting games on ROBLOX.

Being a solo dev, I do almost everything for my game: scripting, building, modelling, UI design, etc.; but I would say that I consider myself to be a programmer in the developer community.

Thank you for accepting me!

I meant I joined in 2015, and founding is like a way of knowing that something exists.

Hey! I’m D_reamz or “Dream” based on what most people call me based on my user.

I found Roblox back in 2013 after trying to find an open world online game that I could spend my time playing. I played up until a few years later when I started to explore the art community part of Roblox.

As I said before, I played before I actually started to get into the creating of things. I started my way into the art section of the community and got into the game developing part a few years later after spending quite a bit of time working on the basics. Back in 2018 I hopped on a project with a friend and his partner and since then it’s been quite the experience.

My current goal as of right now is to further my art experience and to get involved with more game development on the art side. I would like to also explore 3D modeling and to try to learn the basics and see what happens from there.

Hello there, I am MarshadowReunites, thank you for accepting me into the Developer Forums!

:roblox: I have been a ROBLOX player since 2015, back when I have been using Guests instead of a ROBLOX account.
:roblox_light: And now since becoming a small ROBLOX developer, I have worked on a few projects on my own, which includes ROBLOX Sale Hangout, and Super Obstacle Conqueror, the game me and my friend are making.

 Thanks again for letting me in the Developer Forums, looking forward to take part in this community!

  1. It was at the beginning of the year 2012. I found ROBLOX through my little brother. At first, I thought it was just a boring generic brick game. Then I found out that you could create games. That’s what intrigued me the most and have been on this platform ever since.

  2. Before I did any actual coding, I had found out about HTML through right-clicking on web pages with Chrome. That sparked my interest in development. I wanted to do more and push myself. I’ve stuck myself with programming because I think I love to learn.

  3. I haven’t set any goals, yet. Though, seeing that ROBLOX can now pay developers to create games in the past few years, I will have to push myself for that dream to come true.

  4. My role in this community is being a programmer. I suck at building (including 3d modeling) and creating aesthetically pleasing UI. Math is my weakest suit so do not expect some good results for some “advanced” features that require math; though I will give my best of my ability.

  5. Yes. First of all. I am not new to this forum. I actually joined here when it was first introduced. The only way to, well, speak back then was through application approval. I’ve waited at least 3 months before I re-applied for the approval process. I gave up after not hearing back for another 3 months. I thought the dev forums was going to be a failure because of this. “But CMV. Your profile says that you recently joined.” You’re right it does say that, though, the dev forum veterans here will confirm whether what I said is true or not.

I originally found Roblox when I was much younger (getting close to 10 years ago) while I was on a flash games website and I saw an advertisement for Roblox on there. Safe to say the advertisement worked.

The first few times I tried developing on Roblox it was only using free models I found on the library and me just trying to make games I liked (and being very frustrated when they wouldn’t save because I didn’t know how to publish). I also really liked the old private servers feature or whatever it was called where you could build in-game and it would save. From there I only improved with time to get to where I am today.

My #1 goal on the platform currently is to finish up remaking my game and see how much we can grow it further than the original. My general goals are just to grow my presence on the platform and reap the rewards hahaha.

I’ve been programming on Roblox for the past 5 years almost and I have grown a lot since my days of spamming the old Roblox scripters subforum with simple problems to say the very least lol.

I’m happy I finally wrote down my introduction after being on the devforum for a while now, I’ve been reading some of the replies to this thread and some of them are very cool to see.

I can’t actually remember but I do believe that I stumbled upon it from a youtube ad.
I wanted to know how people made the games what I was playing so here I am.
I made my first 30k in a month after starting animating along with maybe 130 USD? Its been about a month and a half now so I’ve made a bit more but I’ve been relaxing, really.
I’m an animator.

Hello, I am Niko and I yesterday became a Roblox DevForum member.

My friend recommended Roblox to me, so I started playing it and it became interesting and entertaining.

I am developing on Roblox since 2017. and my problem was that when I would start a project, after some time I would get bored or I would think that it is too hard for me so I would quit with my project.
Now in 2021., I am working on IFE (In-flight entertainment system) and I think that I am going to finish this project successfully with the help of the Roblox DevForum.

In future I want to improve my scripting skills so I can start more advanced projects.

I hope this forum will be very helpful and that I will get enough help to finish my project!

  3. I try to learn advanced scripting.
  4. I will try to help people for mostly scripting but sometime for blender also.
  5. I think that everyone could become a great developer.

Hey All! I’m KrStin, you can call me KrStin or Kris! I’ve been a dev forum member for a few months but haven’t had the chance to introduce myself.

  1. I discovered ROBLOX back in 2017 after playing with a friend of mine in his front yard (Fun Fact: My original name “Kriscross102” was actually because of his name “Kriscross101”. This is the reason why I got Roblox, just so I specifically could have that name)

  2. I got started with developing my creating random scripts which did nothing, and then slowly improved by watching tutorials by many people and eventually started to make my games

  3. None. I’m still working on developing a game that hopefully can become successful.

  4. I program a lot and know about five different programming languages; these can include HTML and CSS. I always enjoy coding and programming.

  5. Nothing else to be honest. I just thought I would read a few messages and happened to make my way here, and now I’m writing this for all of you.

With that all said, I hope you all have a great day/afternoon/evening/night, and I’ll see you all later!

Regards,
Kris
