Hello! My name is HappySentinel, glad to finally have access to the DevForum.
1. How did you find Roblox?
I found out about Roblox back in 2017. The platform was very popular at my school around this time, I could hear friends and classmates often talking about playing together right after class, and chatting about how fun playing on the platform was. Curious to see what the commotion about Roblox was, I created my first account near the end of March in that year and started playing shortly after.
2. How did you get started with development on the Roblox platform?
I started some sort of development about a year after I joined Roblox, when I found out that itās possible to make your own games. I tried making some simple household objects, like couches or lamps, but I found it quite difficult. Over the years, I very rarely tried to improve my development skillset, until 2019 when I decided to start my first project to test my building skills. My goal was to build a āgallery houseā that would showcase most of the things youād need to know about me and my time on Roblox. I was a beginner in building at the time, and I still am, so it took a few months to complete.
3. Current goals/achievements on the platform
My current goals on the platform are to become skilled in building, scripting, or any other field of development. I hope I can take part in a big project someday. Regarding achievements, Iāve got a few of them. Completing my gallery house game was an achievement on its own, but it also got about 200 visits, earning me the āHomesteadā badge. Iāve also made group avatar badges and logos, owning a group that sold these specific things. I consider this an achievement because it was my first group that involved the making of clothing, and I somehow managed to make about R$400 or more, even though I knew that my products werenāt very high quality. The group was closed after a lack of motivation to continue making any of these products, but it was a great experience while it lasted.
What is your role in the developer community?
My role in the developer community would probably be a Builder, as Iāve got the most experience in this particular field of development.
Anything else youād like to include?
Itās been great to finally get access to more of the DevForum, as Iāve mentioned earlier. I hope I can be a great addition to conversations and contribute enough to the numerous forum categories available.
