Oh good question, i don’t think we can.
I decided to use the dance in the start of Rush Hour. It looks hilarious, and I love it.
I also used a GIF of Michael Jackson moonwalking:
Of course, the Lance Vance Dance.
And to top it all off, the Spiderman 3 dance.
This is promising, I can’t wait to use this for my game’s cutscenes, coupled with facial animation and layered clothing. My only issue would obviously be the 15 second limit and the fact that the animation is facing the opposite way.
This is going to be really really useful for making animations and live events like in the past!
This is a good update, probably one of the best updates (mostly cause I suck at animating and pretty good at movement in real life) but if it just gets fixed a bit this could be very big!
Looks amazing! Will be looking forward to it once it is fully done
What an incredible feature. Insanely game-changing for those who deal with animations and create animations, just as said in other replies, there are very few moments these days where an engine ups the other, and this is phenomenally one of THE features of 2022 Roblox had ever gotten!
Ahh, that’s the beauty of beta.
Do the swag.
it doesn’t capture stuff like excessive flailing but it’s really accurate for what it is
Finally dancing well at parties will do me some good xD
I just want to say, props to you guys.
This is an amazing update. Why?
A. Solo Developers, omg they will be able to do so much more with their games, this is POWERING CREATIVITY.
B. Large Groups, get a proper video, and professional stuff, make beautiful animations with not so much hard work.
C. As a person who is in pre-professional training for dance, there are gonna be some really cool things that you can make with this. Genuine professional dance moves. (If i name them, you won’t understand what they mean but here we go) Pirouettes, Arabesques, Tour De Force, etc etc. Stuff you can regularly animate, but AHHHH SO GOOD!!!
okay ill test this soon, love yall and your hard work that you put into this.
Already my favorite addition to Roblox. I’m having way to much fun with this right now.
Here is my attempt to do the "Floss"
obviously i had to instantly use this
I’m nothing short of amazed. I literally have no words.
Do have a question though, how does it work with R6 if at all?
Haha, that’s funny. Any chance you’ll use it for Kaoc?
from my testing it kinda works, but it seems to have issues with the limbs as it doesnt animate them so it only animates the head
I will agree, this is very great for people who can’t animate or don’t know how to. Mostly this will be used to recreate dances of course but who knows, maybe someone will find different way to use it.
Here what i tried to do with it:
Specialist (Persona 4):
Aerobic Video:
me:
i’ll mark some moments:
- It won’t work on R6, don’t ever bother. Only detects Head but you can always ask for animators to help right?
- Good quality for reference. Should be more that 480p.
- Decent lighting or bright clothes (or not so). Record everything when sun is shinning not in night (like i did).
- This ain’t an motion tracker, so it won’t perfectly recreate your video.
- Not working well for energetic dance, the character will be performing slowly or somehow messing up.
It’s still in beta, just now realised. Will expect improves and fixes.
So, goodluck in there.
I haven’t attempted to set up animations for humanoids since it was still just spinning the C0/C1s of a Motor6D. How can I go from no knowledge at all to using this to make memes to send to friends? I don’t currently have any intent to use it in an actual project anyhow (though this is subject to change if I’m impressed enough by the results)
What filetypes are supported?
At last an official animation body tracker, truly a historical moment for the platform
Record a video, put it on an R15 rig, export the animation to ROBLOX, and then convert it to R6 using this plugin:
