Maximum Player Count Lifted to 100!

On our way to 200!! Is there any soon-to-be performance updates to 200 server size? This is great for all the non-beta members btw.

This is great! Now I can make giant places without players becoming lonely.

Does this mean that when 200 player servers are released to the public, 400 player servers will be in testing?

This reminds me of Mega Place being free. Great idea for that.

Agreed. As long as the server didn’t crashed like that.

As always it’s great to see the public getting new features that are useful this will definitely help to bring more developers out of hiding to create more content that is unlike any others. This is quite thrilling but interesting, only time will tell if non beta developers push out new more interesting things with this new feature for the available to the public,I hope they do take advantage of it.

Glad to see this change! tuned up my game’s maximum player count to 80 from 50, and I don’t see any major lag with 70 players!

Beta access is a way for Roblox to test upcoming features by using a select few of the community. There are definitely other features and more to come being tested.

One such is the packages in studio and some roblox page changes. Just because you may not notice or use these features does not denote it’s presence.

most likely no, it relies on whether if a server could handle that many players meaning if 200 players was to be released out to the public, beta won’t have anything new regarding the player count

This is a very good update. Now on to 200.

200 may cause client to crash or be extremely laggy. Especially the regions the players are from, that may worsen the players experience.

100 slots won’t mean anything if It can’t handle players like 50 slots can. Has the server hardware been improved aswell? Or is it just a raise in the cap?

I’ve been noticing over the past few months that servers themselves have been improving. A year ago it was impossible to go about 140ish players in an empty baseplate before crashing the server. A few weeks ago I hit a full 200 player server in a live game with minimal (18 sec.) average ping considering the circumstances. An 18 second avg. ping is REALLY bad, but considering I’ve never been able to get anywhere near 200 players in a server without it completely crashing before is awesome.

  • now, granted, game optimization should still be a priority for developers. Roblox can only optimize their servers so much. Clean up your code. Clean up your builds.

Hopefully this helps games grow! Hopefully it won’t be abused.

Us “Beta program members” get access to ALL beta releases such as packages and 200 player servers, website changes etc before anyone else if this clarifies it.

I’m pretty sure any new member can request beta access too right?

This is correct.
Members and New Members alike are able to opt-in to the Beta List.

Yeah actually this is very helpful to finally have good enough servers to run 100 play servers. Now I can’t wait for 200 because i’d like the add some spectating features to my game! It would be cool to see a feature to watch players from the lobby.
