Both good and bad I’m not the only one, I do reckon the delete key is the same issue for the F2 rename.
First time using the devforum so I feel nervous replying to anything, this explorer is pretty buggy and is slowing my workflow.
There are issues with the f keybind, when i import a file into my game and press f it does nothing
I’ve been using the update for a few days now, and while the visual improvements are appreciated, the overall user experience could use some refinement.
Specifically, the new right-click context menu is less efficient.
Frequently used actions like “Select All Children”, “Insert”, and “Paste Into” now require additional clicks due to the additionnal dropdown structure. This adds friction (that didn’t exist before) to workflows and slows things down noticeably as we use it verry often.
While compactness might benefit some users, it would be great to at least have the option to toggle between a compact and expanded view, depending on personal preference or workflow needs.
Additionally, the scrollbar is quite small and blends into the background, which makes it hard to spot and use effectively (I use a 2k ultrawide monitor, on 4k it might be a nightmare).
Overall, I think these are promising changes, but UX tweaks are needed to help improve the day-to-day experience for developers.
Thanks for listening, hopefully !
turn on the show core GUI and Show Plugin GUI
Finally i can see my workspace with about 10000 parts
I couldn’t find if it this bug was reported before, but the new explorer doesn’t support the collapse all shortcut I have set. I use it all the time, and I don’t want to always click the collapse all button.
I have to always click collapse all even though it shows I can do it with ctrl+E it doesn’t work.
Could this please be fixed? That is my only issue with the explorer, otherwise it’s really great.
The new explorer design is awesome, but I hope we’ll be able to scroll quickly by holding shift like before
The new explorer looks good, although there are still some performance concerns that should probably have been looked into first before releasing this to the public. Comparing framerates during a Play Solo session shows that your framerate can pretty much get chopped in half (top is the old explorer, bottom is the new one. this is with a maximum FPS of 240)
Ctrl + D
has stopped working on Scripts/LocalScript/ModuleScripts while in script editor which is incredibly annoying.
good gui but i found an annoying bug that makes me want to go back to the old one
when you not hover on the explorer it shouldnt track your mouse but when i leave it and go to change somthing in properties for example it still tracks my mouse which leads to opening the instance
this is also annoying i dont want it to keep opening instances, i want to open it manually i dont want it to open automatically i want you to remove it or just add something in the settings to prevent it.
sorry for the bad quality but you get it i think, you can test it your self.
oh and it still tracks your mouse even if you leave roblox studio in the background
Im not liking the inconsistency im seeing between different places im seeing right now, one has old explorer the other has next gen, its a bit annoying
Fairly certain that was already apart of the old gen explorer as well, Plus if this really bothers you. I would just close out the testing session entirely to check properties, or get a higher performance PC
YES!!! YESSS!!! MOVE INSERT PART AND OBJECT OUT OF THE SUB-MENU AND MY LIFE IS YOURS
This is so absurd bro
Definitely isn’t…
I prefer the old one, new roblox stuff doesn’t really fit to me.
The 3 main issues I have with the update are:
- The blue selection outline sometimes still appears even when my mouse isn’t hovering over the explorer.
- The fact that the explorer breaks the
Ctrl-Z
shortcut in some instances (in my case, I couldn’t undo when I had a Moon Animator 2 project open. I wasn’t able to undo any keyframes, but as soon as I disabled the new gen explorer, it fixed it.) - Lastly, the fact that you still can’t search for specific class names? Like, come on!
Recently noticed an additional bug relating to the CTRL shortcuts not functioning, I can’t seem to Ctrl + C/V in animation editor, nor can I press delete (when it works, it deletes the rig instead of the selected keyframe.).
I literally can’t undo, if I make a decision I have to remember exactly what I did to reverse it.
To add on to that, for some reason, even after I disabled the new gen explorer because it was breaking the undo shortcut, the undo shortcut was still broken. I couldn’t undo or redo in Moon Animator 2 at all anymore. All the other shortcuts work fine except Ctrl-Z
and Ctrl-Shift-Z
.
This is a massive issue regarding workflow, the new gen explorer is so far REALLY bad for workflows of any kind.
