"Next Gen" Explorer performance issue

Based on the information given to us on the release of the “Next Gen” explorer, opening 100k items takes 2.26 seconds, see the original post here:

I have a folder with, rounding up, 150k items. If you factor in its 50% more than the 100k in the example, it should take about 3.39 seconds to load it all. In reality it takes 25 SECONDS, which is a little over 7 TIMES LONGER than what we should be expecting.

Testing it more extensively, the behaviour where it opens almost instantly is reproduced after opening the hierarchy for the first time, since it is cached. Basically the performances we were promised were falsified results:

That’s also without mentioning other issues such as how long it takes to select (and unselect) those 150k items

Before you guys say “It must be your PC that’s bad”:

I’ve noticed this too but I’ve had more of the Visual issues, i reinstalled Roblox completely and cleared my cache like i always do if its laggy.

After the Release of the “Next Gen UI”, my In-Studio Performance dropped Dramatically, i think i’m averaging around 40 FPS ON THE BASEPLATE., Previously i was averaging way more than that.
And Before this update my studio was barely lagging, even on bigger games.

Its even worse on said bigger Games now that i work on, its annoying to even use studio at this point and i don’t think they gave us an option to disable this new UI.

You can still disable it, but its in its “final phase” before official release. It’ll be released very soon unfortunately

25 seconds is a great improvement over the beta; it took 5 minutes and 41 seconds for me to fully expand the workspace last I checked

Can you provide a microprofiler dump? How to post a Bug Report - #14 by Roblox

Hello,

Here’s the microprofiler for when I’m opening the hierarchy
microprofile-20250929-195624.html (7.1 MB)

As for the freezing issue when selecting everything, I’m not 100% sure, but here:

Gotcha, this is helpful. I can’t provide an ETA on this but it does point to some interesting places.

I got around this issue with the FPS by just switching to the Vulkan RE.
I think i was on like a OpenGL Version, Regardless it was lagging me heavily with the new UI and OpenGL.
