ui is too large compared to normal…

1, I think it does have it’s problems (quite a few at that) but it doesnt look ugly, annoying or distracting

2, you can minimize it by right-clicking on it and pressing “Dock/Undock ribbon” :- )

3, Please be nice to the team working on this. Give constructive criticism instead of being rude. They’re trying their best.

4, if you don’t know where anything is, you can go to the top-bar buttons and try to find whatever you need there, though I think they will be introducing needed features shortly.

5, if you literally cannot find anything you need, press control + p and press > to open the “Quick Open” menu

  1. How much is Roblox paying you to defend them?
  2. That post is my personal opinion and nothing you say is going to change it
  3. I am giving constructive criticism - The bar is ugly, thick and full of unnecessary free space
  4. I never said anything about not being able to find my stuff, its pretty clear where it all is
  5. You can minimize it, but there’s still significantly more space then there used to be, and hovering over the remaining FAT area causes it to jumpscare you, unlike the old one which stayed gone when you wanted it gone

Yeah I don’t know if that’s related. Feel free to DM logs if it happens again.

Bring back the arrow button to hide the ribbon

It’s been a live Beta feature for almost a year specifically for this reason.

Currently it’s in Window > Script menu but we are likely to be moving all the scripting related menu items to a dedicated, top level scripting menu. It’s also always available via keyboard Shortcut.

1, Think what you want to think :3
2, I never said I wanted to change your opinion, just saying that some things you said were a little rude and unnecessary.
3, you should look at the “Known bugs” section, it contains a thing that says:

4, I was addressing other posts above mine.
5, this isn’t that fat, but I agree with you on the “jumpscare” thing :- )

honestly this has done nothing but ruin my workflow

maybe if roblox kept the old buttons where they should be but using this design then i guess it would be an ok update

the old one looks better, kinda feels like a downgrade sorry, a unnessesary ui downgrade

You really need to bring back the arrow button that hid the ribbon.
I have the ribbon undocked and it constantly gets stuck on my screen after moving my mouse quickly. I have to very slowly and purposefully slide my mouse off of the ribbon for it to actually disappear.
Doesn’t help that when the ribbon doesn’t automatically hide itself, it layers itself above literally everything on my screen, even if I minimize Roblox studio…

Main feedback I have is:

  • It would be nice if the small arrow from the old version was added. Next to the assistant there was an arrow that let’s you collapse the bar. At some point you have most hotkeys memorised. I know it will likely not really be used by 99.5% of people but it’s a great QOL feature.

NVM! it is possible to get the behaviour somewhat back, if you double click home at some point you can collapse it so it behaves like collapsed

Otherwise, it feels clean to use, it’s mainly that it takes too much space, usage wise it’s not that bad

How about a tool for getting out of script view? Like, clicking it just takes you to the 3D Viewport.

Im testing this out now, the ui is kinda clunky and hard to navigate, it feels like stuff is missing, honestly i wish you guys kept the old layout and just updated the general look of it…

This new UI is literally ONLY a downgrade. For me, UI needs to be space efficient and actually make sense. This new UI completely ignores this and decides to cover a fourth of my screen and have a half an inch of space between each button.

Please add a setting to revert this. It’s a complete eyesore and a massive downgrade from the previous UI. All it’s done is made studio more bloated and uglier.

I agree, it just seems like roblox doesn’t QA any of this stuff with ACTUAL developers…
Like there is no way this update was approved, IF anything they should make a “Legacy” studio feature, where you can chose to have the old ui, This UI is objectively worse in every possible way, a very inferior product.

WHERE ARE THE BUTTONS

Honestly though I feel like the new UI has too much empty space. The previous UI was completely fine and intuitive.

Main concerns I have:

The show surface indicator is gone, please give it back I’m in pain

The UI takes more space on the top than the old one did, less real estate for the same stuff makes everything else feel more cluttered

This removed the custom buttons on the top left that were actually so nice, please give them back

If these things are fixed, I’d say it’s a nice change, but otherwise it’s a dealbreaker for me

This is an extremely stupid argument to me, why are you making the service provider (Roblox) your enemy and the people who actually create good points that are in-favor of them the ally of the enemy? This change effects all of us. No one is getting paid or forced.

Your personal opinion will not matter in the eyes of the engineers when your argument is a mere mirror of another, which has been said probably many times already, and even is acknowledged.

It’s very easy to provide feedback, you want engineers and the service provider to actually consider or even look at your “feedback”? You construct it with kindness. Without it, you are extremely prone to getting ignored. (Unless you point out an extremely important new issue that hasn’t been acknowledged, which most of the time is very unlikely in cases such as this.)
