Next Gen Studio - Preparing for Takeoff! [Beta]

Don’t know if this has already been mentioned before in this thread (or maybe I have bad comprehension) but I’d prefer if there were two versions of the new gen UI.

One where its for new studio beginners where you have what you see currently in beta.
And another for advanced users where you don’t have all the features hidden away in dropdown menus (like what the current UI looks like or better but redesigned with the new icons and updated studio changes)

I think that would probably satisfy both parties as the simplified UI would confuse older studio users trying to dig through different tool groups to check for certain things or edit collision groups, as well as newer players who look at the jungle sale of the current UI trying to wrap their head around it. Obviously I’m against the new UI changes if they remain as they are at release as I feel its far too simplified but there could be potential in keeping both systems.
One thing I’ve noticed is a lack of windows like this in the view tab to look at? This could be a bit problematic I feel.

This is entirely correct. It would have been so much less controversial if they had made changes to the UI’s appearance while also maintaining a similar layout.

The problem solely lies in the fact that people will need to relearn this, workflows will be disrupted, and all Studio tutorial videos will essentially be rendered obsolete.

i appreciate with the modernized UI but this isn’t enough at all, luckily i just figured where to hide the ribbons but it’s not what most devs like me want it to be, there still should be a button to hide and displayed by default like old ones

honestly? it’s not bad, design-wise atleast

my only complaint is that instead of the toolbar being centered, it should be off to the left side like so. otherwise its just too much wasted space. whipped up a quick edit in ms paint and i do think it makes a difference


For some reason the camera controls for Server view is now completely broken, when you do a playtest & switch to server

You now need to navigate using q + e & w a sd , and it’s also inverted, instead of the normal camera studio movement?

Who cooked this…? :sob: :pray: Why don’t we have 1 tabs that has multiple plugins like in the legacy UI… also you guys overused those dropdown menus WAY TOO MUCH imo…

It’s been “fun” seeing your next gen UI now give me my legacy UI back…

Also not to say my studio feels WAY more laggy now…

i also find the old version better, i liked the old version when collapsed because now all my current pixel art ui isnt the correct dimension sizes which is fun, weeks worth of ui that has incorrect width/height

You can already do this, right click the top bar where the tabs are and change the location.

is there anyway to create layout looking like view tab ?

Are there plans to have some sort of UI preset system? For example, providing two presets to begin with, the current next gen UI layout, and a layout which attempts to mirror the original topbar? The old topbar had a lot more content in each of the tabs compared to the new one, and it will be very annoying to have to rearrange everything.

I think roblox should just give us the option to pick weather to use the legacy UI or the next gen UI. It might take some work but it will make everyone happy.

Please allow us to use the legacy layout. This takes 27% of my vertical screen space (my resolution is 1366 x 768) which is way more than the legacy layout took.
