You go to File> Beta Features> Scroll down to Next Gen Studio Preview> Uncheck it, save, and restart studio!
I don’t mind the refreshed appearance, however I am opposed to certain menu’s being moved. Doesn’t seem very necessary as it was already easy enough to navigate the UI.
i hate this new ui its going to be such a pain to learn and i dont want to, dont change something that doesnt have to be changed
Please make this a feature where you can turn this on and off. Let the people who want it have it and the people who don’t be able to turn it off. Please.
This needs to be optional. They pray they listen, just once.
I dont really see the need for a new ui. The previous one was perfect and fit all my needs, as this one seems to look more like a mobile version. It also seems to make categories feel more empty to compensate for the new ui sizes as in the previous ui there were alot more that fit inside one catagory.
I really hope they listen. This is the only time they need to listen.
you guys dont need to change it, it looks aleready good enough, I just loaded onto roblox studio and I just saw the new top bar didnt like it, atleast have a option to change it back, it looks too simple, same with the new explorer, just unnessesary changes.
…Yeah. This looks kind of gross. It’s less intuitive, is harder to see, there’s lots of wasted space, and honestly…looks like whoever designed this didn’t really know what they were doing or just has poor taste. Either that, or they designed it for a very specific crowd in mind and probably “looked good” during some meeting. “Ooo shiny” doesn’t make it good.
It only looks somewhat good in dark mode and it seems to have been made with that in mind.
If the new UI is completely optional, that’s fine. But this sort of thing shouldn’t be a forced change if it ever comes to that. I’m sure it appeals to some.
Note: I swear many of these comments sound like bots or “yes men”.
agree, it looks terrible, every button has been flipped 180 - why is the play button all the way up in the left section, - why is toolbox, explorer settings buttons at the right, what does the character button do?, the color button, all these quick create buttons, it looks so bad, the page buttons at the middle top, the current old top bar looks perfect Idk why they gotta change up everything, hope they dont start like youtube making unnecessary UI changes, btw idk why they brag about making it in Lua, isnt it better at C++? its faster more native?
boy this is so bad
I am all for moving UI to Luau, but if you’re going to do that, please just keep the same layout.
This is terrible and I hate it.
Here’s a better suggestion: Let us be able to design our own UI for our own Studio. That will make it easier for people to tailor their UI to match their workflow and allow them to work the most efficiently.
If you’d take some time with it, you might notice:
- All the test modes are available in one place instead of 3 different tabs
- The play button is always accessible regardless of the visibility of any tab (or the ribbon)
- You can hide any tabs you don’t like
- You can put Explorer, Toolbox, and Settings anywhere you’d like on your tabs
- You can set your tabs to align left
That’s… exactly what we’re doing? I recommend moving off this year old post and to the latest one:
ok imma go back to the new one and just test it for 5 min
If this fully releases I’ll be able to use the old studio ui, right? I’m used to the old one more and I prefer having everything be smaller.
Nope - you won’t be able to.
Like Windows XP (for eg) - it’s old limited architecture - and won’t be managed anymore.
In fact - it will be totally removed.
Please do not implement this. It’s been uncomfortable the moment I started using it, theres too much space wasted (which reduces your screen) and the plugin layout is cramped asl. Sure I like the new features but it’s odd when you set it up.
You might as well put this layout aside.
For anyone who wants to disable:
File - Beta Features - Next Gen Studio Preview - Turn it off!
people are coming to this post cause its hyperlinked in the Beta Features tab in roblox studio right now btw
