No, it doesn’t work again, I created a mesh part, it didn’t work again, I tried to make a fbx model that doesn’t have texture, it gives the same error again.
Additionally, if you’re trying to make what I think you’re making, don’t. Megumin’s hat is a part of her design, and that is trademarked. Unless you own the rights to the design, do not upload it to Roblox.
If this was actually manual then they wouldn’t let something go on sale if it has even the slightest possibility to be used inappropriately. I’m tired of us brushing off Roblox’s absolutely poor moderation because “at least they’re trying.” like NO! A company like roblox that has a majority of its players under 18 SHOULD NOT be excused for ignoring nsfw content! It would be understandable if it was bypassed but some of these accessories are so obvious that you’d need to be blind to let it pass.
(Also don’t even think about saying to report the inappropriate accessories because they shouldn’t have passed the initial moderation in the first place.)
Out of curiosity, how you even find SUCH cringe items? I know that there’s tons and tons of trash avatar items, which are repetative, meme ones, but comparing to what you have found… I can’t imagine anything apart from exact searches and external media links…
seriously though, the fact that i now have the power to make avatars / OCs to the fullest extent of my blender abilities-- something i’ve always dreamed of being able to do-- is so absolutely invigorating AAAHH!!! i’m so stoked!!
and although there will be bad apples of course, people who misuse this feature-- i don’t blame that on the feature itself but rather Roblox’s lack of interference with said bad apples… although that has been a major issue since long before UGC went public…
point is, i see people on social medias fear mongering that people can now upload bypassed items and copyrighted characters as if that hasn’t already been a problem for the past 2 years (give or take) within the UGC program…
ultimately, i’m just excited & thankful to be given the chance to create and be creative!!
I’m sure they outsource the moderation to foreign countries such as India, none of those look explicitly sexual, surely the 2nd one looks most like a sexual object, but it’s hard to tell what was attempted there and I’m sure anyone would be confused, there’s a reason they have people that specifically won’t be bias against anything or anyone. The 3rd image was a 2 part, You can’t assume everything is sexual, it basically looks like a chocolate egg, and the 4th one looks like a dinosaur, it’s basically a “be bias because of gut feeling” or “do the job I’m hired to do as professionally as possible”, you can genuinely cause issues if you were to act based on instinct and would likely be fired for such a mistake, so you must understand atleast alittle.
I wasn’t planning on posting a response to this thread, but I think it’s gotten to the point that I need to.
Roblox, please listen to your community. I get the overall vision behind opening up UGC to the public, but this was executed so poorly. The fact of the matter is that when you open up something like this to millions of people, there will be some that are going to bypass moderation, uploading illegal and inappropriate content regardless of what standards, rules or moderating bots have been put in place. The previous UGC program was a much better course of action, as it only let a community of trusted developers publish UGC items, with the possibility of getting kicked from the team if rules were broken. There is simply no way to fully protect the catalog when opening it up to this wide demographic. Who’s to stop anyone from creating an alt account, buying premium and ID verifying, and then uploading items that break ToS?
In addition, this has gotten to the point where a lawsuit is imminent. Sexual content has already been uploaded to the catalog, and your website, Roblox, is now exposing minors to this. Sure, the blame goes both ways, and a lot of it goes to the people who uploaded those items. But they aren’t the ones that get taken to court; you are! This is your program that you guys offer. This is your catalog that you guys promote to everyone on the platform. Hundreds of millions of people have access to this catalog, and opening it up for anyone to upload to is very irresponsible. And there is still time to clean up this mess and bring the catalog back to a place that fits with Roblox’s vision; the catalog can return to a state that is legal, and safe for all.
Roblox, please revert this update. Please return to the previous UGC program. The catalog was in a much better state then.
That’s not even to mention how much us UGC creators are going to be, and already have been, hurt because of this update. Many of us use UGC as our main income source, and this update is causing us to lose revenue day by day.
Please consider what the majority of your community is saying Roblox. There is still time to make this right.
Guys I would not get too worried about Public UGC as you need to 1. Have ID Verified. Many people are not ready to give critical information to Roblox all to access a feature. 2. Need to buy a monthly subscribtion of MINIMUM $10 or more.
The thing is that moderation can see where the avatar item will be placed on the characters model.
Anyone with a basic understanding of the internet will know that its not a dinosaur. Outsourced moderation is not an excuse for being unqualified and ignorant.
That doesn’t seem to be an issue for the mod team when they false ban people
I’m not quite sure they can, is there a source for that one, without that fact they most likely have to account for every occasion such as what if it’s a side accessory, a pin, or anything else for that matter, sure they could’ve enabled AI recently as there was an expected wave of uploads, but the last I heard it was manual, it could’ve changed within the public release but I’m unaware of the fact.
Your basically just saying “I didn’t read what you wrote” in a different manner, I specifically explained they most likely can’t just be bias against an item because they believe it’s possibly sexual due to a “Dirty Mind”, it’s a “Hat”.
Anyone “with a basic understanding of” Roblox’s Moderation would be aware that false bans actually don’t happen that often and are being reduced, they are also mostly due to AI error, not human error and there’s already a seperated appeal page where you can have assets re-looked by moderation.
I actually looked on rolimons to see how many items have been banned, and their ban rate for limiteds is roughly around 10 items a month based off of the 12 pages of trashed limiteds there, meaning that out of the 100s that get uploaded a day you’d be lucky to see even a handful of those banned by the end of the month. This metric does only show limiteds, but it still gives a pretty decent landmark that allows a fair assumption of them deleting likely only ~40-60 regular items a month if regular items are posted 4x or 6x as much as limiteds are.
I don’t see the catalog lasting very long if they leave the floodgates open like this. It needs a complete overhaul and many more filters to function properly and fairly as a public marketplace, to both users and creators. The UGC code trash infesting the actual catalog is the first thing they could easily fix by placing “FREE”/In Experience item visibility in its own category by default instead of letting them coexist with actual items, because only 1 out of every 200 UGC items labeled as free are genuinely purchasable by the masses on the catalog.
I also agree that this feature should be reverted. UGC is a privilege. It should only be granted to skilled individuals that can prove they are worthy and can 3d model + texture well enough.
