It’s impossible to get users to join our Roblox groups from in-game. The alternative is an entirely more difficult process, taking the users out of the game, ruining their immersion, and ultimately dampening their experience - when it doesn’t have to be. Having users able to join our group via an in-game Engine API would improve player retention, sense of community, and overall player experience.
It also creates friction for players on devices that cannot easily alt-tab, such as those on mobile and Xbox who wish to join the group either to follow or for rewards.
Something like a PromptJoinGroupAsync function would solve this issue.
If Roblox implements this, player retention would increase for games under a group because it becomes easily accessible for players through the Groups tab to find the games again.
Additionally, Roblox could use it as a signal to improve cohort home recommendations based on the types of experiences that group is developing, becoming an indicator of what genre types that player enjoys.

Already been requested many times before.
Problem:
As a Roblox developer who does groups, it can be particularly difficult to specify to some people specific groups which they must join / request - especially when you have formatted affiliates. Most recently I have begun my Star Wars project, as some of you may know in military groups you tend to have your main group, then divisions and then sub divisions which is great but then it’s difficult to give pathways from main to sub division.
What I have wanted to achieve recently is a way …
:PromptGroupJoin(int GroupID)
Will, if the player has a free group slot, prompt them to join a group. Any join requests will be approved automatically.

.PromptGroupJoinFinished
Event which is fired when the a player responds to a group join prompt. Returns:
Int GroupID
Bool JoinedGroupSuccesful

:ChangeRank(int GroupID, Instance Player, Int GroupRank)
Will change the rank of the player in the group specified to that of the one given by the GroupRank paramete…
As a Roblox developer, it is currently too hard to get players to join your roblox group with group rewards systems, so I was thinking that roblox should make an option that prompts the player to join a roblox group in-game.
For example a prompt that asks the player to join a group when the player wants to claim group rewards instead of having to leave the game, join the group and rejoin the game to claim the group rewards.
If Roblox is able to address this issue, it would improve my developme…
Saw this post on the main site and thought it was really neat. Re-posting here since I don’t think the staff ever get to check the main S&I forum in all its glory with spam and whatnot. It’d be similar to the “Would you like to purchase this shirt?” notification you get when you’re prompted for a purchase with a script.

Currently, the only way to join a group is directly through the website or group page.
A lot of games, rely on their community to grow or, have cool in-game perks for group-members which is great and it benefits everyone!
The problem is…
For mobile and Xbox players, they would have to leave the game entirely to join the group. There is also the possibility that when the player leaves the game after playing they’ll forget to join. If the player is on Desktop, then it is easy to tab out or leav…
