Proper support for the Linux platform

the regular android user does not have the power to do the crazy stuff that you can do on linux, unless their os is rooted. on top of that, hyperion has not yet become a part of the android app & they’ve been teasing it for sooo long.

You are really just moving the goalpost here. If this is the problem then it has nothing to do with Linux but its primary userbase. You can do these things on any platform.

Its already not worth it for them, and as you said, it poses a security risk and extra headache. All for miniscule amount of players, this is probably why we wont ever get Linux support.

Thing is, it’s easier to do it on Linux and harder to prevent it. You can also write a website in assembly. But do you? Most Android phones are very locked down and Android is different enough from Linux that supporting both isn’t the same.

In the end its a combination of “It’s not worth it” and “Cons outweighs pros”.

I wouldn’t necessarily say “never” anything can happen. But as of now it is pretty unlikely.

Sent a “bug report” for linux and android to have mmat and mmkat syscalls.
This might convince roblox to harden anticheat and hook into the kernel.

The moment they introduce a kernel-level anti-cheat is the moment I stop playing Roblox entirely. It’s not worth installing a rootkit just to play a game.

its the kernel that will protect roblox, not an anticheat

this would be much more possible nowadays now that flatpak exists, and much more worth it since gaming on linux is now possible and semi-popular

The suggestion that @Askofep posted would be a modification to the linux and android kernels, not a kernel level anticheat program. This may be slightly confusing if your only exposure to the linux and other kernels is via 3rd party programs likes Riot Vanguard.

make the Linux event to make up for this blunder plz

I support this feature.

I don’t use Linux myself but with mega corps becoming increasingly money hungry and making operating systems like Windows 11 more annoying to use, Linux is starting to become an attractive option for duo-booting or even installing it on a new PC.

The biggest pain currently just is that a lotta software that I use isn’t ready or doesn’t work on Linux yet so the switch currently isn’t worth it for me.

However, with Linux becoming a growing platform and with how many players Roblox currently has, I think Linux should receive more support for software.

Even as a Windows user I do think Linux is the future, free from all the annoyances and problems that come with Windows 11, MacOS and other tech-giant-owned operating systems.

Problem is that some game engines such as Roblox Studio are currently just cumbersome to get working on Linux and playing Roblox is almost impossible.

follow what the exploiters do to get hacks working but with the officail roblox apk instead or just fuse linux and the android kernel or steal from chromeos

big support!

Been meaning to switch to linux for a while, but constantly seeing software kinda support linux then casually drop it a few years later has been disheartening, but having one massive platform officially support linux will definitely help linux become a viable alternative for possibly millions of people, especially as older PCs are getting shunned by microsoft along with them shoving as many tracking and AI features into windows 11 as possible.

The influence this has is a great step to supporting a rapidly growing platform alternative, and I’m all for it

prevent linux gamers from playing the mega edition hunt while still allowing them to play on roblox

With SteamOS coming for desktop PCs soon, I have faith there might be a flame-that may have never been ignited-be reignited to look into this.

Upvoting this, linux is overall better OS for me.

Personally I do not understand, they have support for ChromeOS with 2% marketshare but not for Linux with 4%? How does that make any sense?

Simple: investors see it as platform acceleration.
