PSA: The Roblox app beta for Windows is now underway!

Woah!

Looks like the roblox app got a huge redesign!
It only looks like the homepage was changed for now, but I think this looks really nice!
It doesn’t just look like the mobile app anymore!

Super cool (and useful) highlight feature!

Although, what happened to the beta esc screen?

It’s no longer the updated one and now it’s just the regular one but with an oddly placed home button. What’s the reason behind this?

Looking forward to seeing what’s next for the roblox app!

Any news on why the opt-in is still 10% after a full year? If you’d like to get more feedback, opening this up to everybody is the way to do it.

Usually This is more common for Edge users

or We are still going to use website more than apps

That was the first beta game menu, I guess for some reason they changed it again.

It’s not 1% anymore, it’s been 10% as of September 2021.

Is there some way I can disable this? It often crashes my client whenever I exit a game.

Go into the settings in the beta app and then look for disable beta app.

You are right. But if we go to the another account, it’s showing the old design (I had always), but if we go to the main account, it’s showing… this new design. And that’s pretty good.

Is there a way to remove this app. I don’t want to use it but it still shows up everytime I leave a experience. I tried this but there is no option for that.

Would appreciate if the toggle for the desktop app was re-introduced. The beta app completely breaks compatibility with most FPS unlockers and that’s not really ideal for the games I play on Roblox that relies on a high FPS.

Is there any way to opt out of this currently? I’ve been forced into it recently and find it quite annoying that I have to open task manager and kill the Roblox process if I want to quit out of a place without getting this “try the beta!” message. The settings within it do not have any scroll bars or opt out setting, as a few previous replies have mentioned, and I’d much rather just use Chrome as I already do.

That will not work, he said that that button wasn’t there.

Yeah, about that… that particular part of the menu doesn’t exist on my machine.

I found a method like a year ago when I tried enabling it, it had to do with the properties of the Roblox Player but I can’t locate the thread it was said on, I’ll let you know.

I didn’t find it yet but I found another method so hopefully this helps:

How to disable the Roblox Desktop app (Windows Only) - Resources / Community Tutorials - DevForum | Roblox

This worked, thank you.

A bit silly that I have to edit the registry because the button to opt out won’t show up, but it worked nonetheless.

why was the ability to uninstall beta removed?

I dislike this change immensely. I would like to be able to Alt-F4 out of the game, as it is a common shortcut I use. Having to press it twice is undesirable and completely unexpected. I am unable to remove the beta, either through a brand-new alt account or my own account. I would heavily suggest you keep the option to disable it and not enable it forcefully in future, as it is heavily distressing to remove the ability to use a well-known and used shortcut as it is intended.
