Quoting someone now adds your post as a reply to the person you quoted, even if you didn't reply to them

Bug:
When using a quote in your reply, it now adds your reply to the post you quoted.

Screenshots:

In this example (topic), I edited my reply to add a quote of the workaround that was mentioned.

But when I did this, it added my topic as one of the replies of the topic I quoted.

Reproduction Steps:
Quote a user by highlighting text and pressing the quote button

Date First Experienced: August 19, 2021 at 7AM PST/10 AM EST/ 2PM UST
Date Last Experienced: August 19, 2021 at 1PM PST/4PM EST/ 8PM UST

A reply marks the OP as a reply to itself

Not sure when it started, but this reply (Fig. A) has the OP (Fig. B) as a reply to itself; i.e. Fig. A has 1 reply, the reply is Fig. B when this is impossible. A hard refresh did not fix the problem. Location: Repro: Click the link given.

This has already been reported, has always existed, and is not a bug.
