How do the invites work?
since i really want to get an invite to the RDC onlin
I cannot speak for other countries but in the UK at least a serious concern has been raised with regards to vaccination proof @Missimo93
There are listings being created daily and not just on eBay but in a variety of forums including university gathers and group chats as a way to get abroad easier as people want to head to sunny countries easier like Spain etc.
There is a COVID pass but this can also be obtained with a negative test result. It also requires you signing up for a digital NHS account which as far as I know people are hesitant for and some physically unable to depending on GP and own individual circumstances but hopefully should only represent a small number.
I’d also perhaps question the integrity of the NHS COVID pass considering I’ve seen at least 5 of these types of messages combined with articles stating that NHS staff uptake is relatively low. I’m taking these with a hard cup of salt because it could just be all words or a straight up scam.
My own personal advice to anyone attending would be treat everyone like they have not had the vaccine to stay safe this is the current advice passed onto me when I recently attended a local event in the UK as they said it was near impossible to accurately verify that people have had the vaccine because a long list of variables. For anyone interested temperature checks operated throughout the event and was a requirement for both entering and leaving and gated a few small closed areas, classic mandatory 2 meter lines scattered throughout and a bunch of anti-bacterial everywhere.

I’d actually really like to attend haha, but I’m afraid I won’t be able to due to school etc. Maybe the virtual one

What is the est. overall cost from an English citizen? It seems interesting but pricey. Do you have any plans to host a european RDC in the near future?

I live in the UK and went in 2019, I can’t remember the exact cost but you’re looking at something like £1,000 - £2,000 per person when you factor in flights, hotel and general costs while there (food, transport if you want to sightsee, etc). The price range is quite big because it depends on what flights you get (some are cheaper than others, for example a direct flight might be more expensive than a flight that goes to a few other places on the way), which hotel you stay at and how long you stay there! I was 17 so I also brought along my Mum therefore it ended up costing more than a solo trip, so that’s something to consider if you are not able or don’t want to go alone yet.
But if you have the money and are invited, I would definitely recommend going! It’s worth it.

This is awesome! I’m so glad Roblox chose to do it both in-person and virtual. Have fun to those who are going! 
Looks like another RDC I’m going to miss because of a lack of invite. looks like a cool event, I wish I could attend it in-person but not going to happen because of a ‘certain’ variant.

Even though I’m such a small developer who wouldn’t be invited…yet, I’m exited for everyone who will have the chance to go.
I do have a question. In the future, do you think you guys run something like RDC London / Europe again?
I’m really glad that Roblox decided to go with the option to go in-person or virtual, and here’s hoping we get this option for the two going forward! 
It looks big account for the less people invited but also social distancing.

Yep I think that’s probably the reasoning, makes it easier to distance.
Really nice to see a physcial RDC being held this year, as I didn’t have much interest in the virtual only one last time. Just hope I will be able to get into the states by October!

Rip, my parents will let me use discord and roblox and nothing else, and if i get invited, there is no way in the world I would be able to attend, cuz parents. They dont really support video games, Ive tried explaining there is a differnce with developing and playing, but its all the same to them. they would see the confrence as some giant videogame convention where you have to spend hundreds of dollars on useless videogames stuffs.

I give it a 50/50 chance since most of them may not even come in person, and from what i’m looking it’s gonna be really limited
